if the truck is stock, you will have rubbing with 20" rims, especially if they are 9 or 10 inches wide. how thick is the wheel adapter you are looking at getting? that will do it too. plus, what is the offset or backspacing of the 20's? these are all things that you have to take into account...
yeah, im a corpsman. you a winger? havent had the chance to go with wing yet, been with everyone else though! hahah. those items should be relatively easy to find and install. if you run into any problems with the install, im sure someone on here can help ya with the problems.
a lot. first you need an axle from about 77-79 light duty f250. then you need to clean it all up (grind off existing spring perches), measure to make sure she sits even under the truck, weld on new spring perches, etc....lots of work. i am going to be working on this project hopefully starting...
you can always check ebay and craigslist as well. just make a wishlist of the things you want and go that route before you go to the dealer. if you go there, you would be better off trading yours in on an E.B. cuz you will spend tons of money at the dealership. where in SD you located?
thats a lot of jeeps! i thought those things were supposed to last forever. nice boats by the way. did you say you owned a plane?! oh yea, can you build me one of those beauties at the bottom!!!!
greg, if i were you i would convert to coils. there is a thread on here on how to do it. i dont think it is very expensive either.
i have an 01 E.B. with the A4WD and I am running a 4" rancho suspension lift with 35" tires.
well if you are gonna pull that half shaft out to check the cv joint, you might as well just replace the whole shaft. its relatively cheap, about 50 bucks for a new one.
looks like you had a blast man. i love the mud. panda, this upcoming year i AM going to azusa if you would like to go. i have to hit that place before i leave here.
well i will def need the help panda. and you guys all talked me into it. gonna make the wifey buy me the kit for xmas. there are 5 body mounts on each side right? you have to get to them from the top (under the carpet) correct? wont have the money for 37's yet since i just bought these tires and...
no. the cv joint is part of the half shaft that runs to your differential. describe the sound for us. do you feel the vibration in the pedals or the steering wheel? when was the last time you changed your diff fluid, front and rear?
well, i love BF goodrich but they can be a little pricey. right now i am running Nitto terra grappler A/T and they seem to do just fine. havent seen them in snow yet but once i head to the mountain for ski season, i will let you know how they run.
yeah, think im gonna do it. its not about the tires i have now, its the tires i want to get. im pretty sure with the BL, i can get some 37's underneath her with my 16x10s. might have to do a little trimming on the bumper but it will be worth it.
if the a-arm bracket is broken...DO NOT DRIVE IT! if that thing breaks drivin down the highway, not gonna be pretty. she will DEFINITELY be totalled out after that trip.
