Got it towed to the dealer!! :frown:
Coming to a stop light, it just died. It's done it before, but always started right up. In the past it's been an open circuit in the TPS, so I assume that's what it is, but I'm not going to throw money at it until I know for sure what it is. I guess I'll...
When I did my install to retain the OEM DVD, I bypassed the audio out of the DVD unit so you have to use the IR headsets, just so I wouldn't have to listen to the kids movies at all. Now my wife and I can listen to our music, and the kids have their entertainment all to themselves!
Missing under heavy acceleration points to a misfire due to a bad COP or plug. It seems you narrowed it down to a COP, but just get the codes read if the CEL light was flashing. If not, then I would suggest replacing the COPs all together.
Do you have a traction control button by the cupholders or "Advance Trac" or "RSC" badging on the tailgate? If so, you have traction control. If not, most likely not.
Woohoo!!! The Expy is back where it belongs, and is nestled back into the garage. It has sucked having to clear snow and scrape the windows over the last couple of weeks with the weather we've had. It will be nice to get into a "warmer" car on those early mornings.
Yeah, it's not fool proof. I've had it go into fail safe mode a few times, and only once it was in a dangerous situation on the highway. Each and every time it was when I got out of the throttle. It lost power and I had to restart the car, then everything was fine.
This time the CEL stayed...
Cleaned the throttle body after I got a P2104 error code and the Expy went into "Fail Safe Mode". Hopefully that was the problem or a new TB is in my future.
Yeah, the E46 chasis was the last of the good 3 series BMW's. Our E90 is OK, but the E36 ('92-98) and E46 (99-05) were much better. We had a sport pkg '97 328i that was wicked on the twisties! I have a feeling this 550 will be equivalent to that.
If it says 1997-2003, they are wrong as it will only fit up to 2002 which is the last year of the Gen 1. 2003-2006 will be different. Just curious what you are pulling to need extensions as I didn't need them when towing a 26 ft boat that was 8'6" wide. The second gen's mirrors are already a...
It won't rot. The 3 series lease is up the end of December, then back to the Expy full time. I do prefer the larger vehicles too, but every now and then it's nice to dart around in a small car.
It stayed home!. My wife took the 3 series, and I took the Expy. It still has summer rubber on the front, so we played it safe. Getting new all seasons put on tomorrow. I did take it out for a spin around the block to see how she handled, and it actually wasn't too bad. Rear traction was OK...
Myself, along with other members here, have used the seller brakemotive on ebay and have had good results. $205 shipped for all 4 rotors and pads is a great deal for some pretty good rotors.
What you can't see is the third garage bay with all my tools and kids toys. Mainly woodworking tools, but I have my fair share of mechanics tools also. You can barely see the workbench in the right rear of the garage in that pic. I built my man cave in the basement with all the tools too!! Lol
Haha.....I have tried to get her to look at other vehicles as I believe that BMW's are not what they used to be (getting too lux and losing their sportiness), but so many manufacturers have lost the option of the MT. She is dead set on driving a MT as long as she can because she said she...
