there is acually a dip stick, where the tube would normally go in the trans there is a silver hex cover threaded in the case. remove that and there is a small dipstick there. but to check it your expy has to be running and the converter is right there, put on heat resisant gloves to check...
the AC will blow colder when you are driving than at idle because the compressor is spinning faster and you are blowing air in the condencer. check for a vacuum leak under the dash that might be the hissing sound
if you can (or have someone) put a fuel presure guage on it and see what the presure is and how quickly it builds. also when did you put a fuel filter on it last?
check the bottom of the doors. there should be 2 plastic covers on the drains front and rear of the door, they should just pop off and then clean them. if the covers are gone then there must be alot of dirt in there
G3 is the code for the tan color , and it is not printed on the ID label 0n 07 and up Expeditions. and just for any ones information the code for the grey color (if they have that color on the bottom like mine) is YG

if you can get to the plug to the sender at the tank and unplug it. find the wire from the guage, and ground it . if the guage goes to full its the sender if not its the guage. you will have to do some reserch to find what wire in the plug is from the guage.

the tow hooks are located in the same place from 97 to 02. the bumpers will directly bolt on but you are right about the top of the bumper being flat. the 99 to 02 grill dips down. the header panel is the same for all the years.
