Thanks again everyone, I borrowed the proper tools today from my neighbor and was able to get the starter out. Brought it down to autozone to be tested and sure enough it was totally dead. Picked up a new one and put it back in and everything works great. Overall I didn't think it was too...
Just like everyone else said, it's very minor trimming. And if it offcenter it seems like a problem with the install kit. When I did mine I needed to trim the black plastic behind the front removable bezel and ended up not even using and install kit since the guy sold me the wrong one. I just...
Thanks for all the responses guys, I checked out the fender solenoid and that seems to be functioning fine, my ignition switch seems fine, so basically narrows it down to wires and the starter itself. For those of you who have replaced one on these trucks before...how should I go about doing it...
Which is the starter solenoid? I have one that is connected to the starter itself then i have one that is on the firewall. I found each one on the autozone replacement parts page but the firewall mounted one says "Application: Without starter mounted solenoid" and the one on the starter says...
So 3 days ago I noticed my truck cranking over slightly slower than normal, over the past few days it seemed to get slower and slower until today it just finally wouldn't crank at all. Truck runs perfectly fine once it starts and I had the battery and alternator checked today and they are fine...
Thanks for the advice, I will try it soon. My main concern was if the lines would be pressurized and I'd end up with gas shooting all over the place. I know for a fact the filter hasn't been changed in the past 30k I've been driving the truck and I highly doubt my dad changed it much when he had...
Is this something that can easily be done on your own or should I just have it done somewhere. I've been wanting to change mine for a while now but am not sure how to go about doing it
I have a fire extinguisher mounted in the passenger glove compartment with the brackets it came with. Not very practical if you actually need that compartment but I didn't so I like it
Thermo I need some help, I tried this yet it still will not work. I used a dremel and took down the ramp so he knob does pull out perfectly without being turned fully to the headlight position, yet the fogs will still not come on without the low beams
I've always considered removing mine since its lowered and I'm 6'6" too, but I was afraid of the frame rails being visible and taking away from the look. Can anyone let me know how visible the frame rails or other potential ugly/rusted things are with them removed?
I have a good amount of negative camber up front from lowering mine so I'm interested in any aftermarket solutions to this too since my factory adjustments are maxed out
If the monitors have a power button on each one then just wire them to their own constant 12v source....my rearview mirror screen has a constant 12v, a ground, and a reverse camera wire, along with 2 video input cables. The screen only turns on when I press the button on it
I couldn't ask for a better vehicle, been in the family since brand new. Was handed down to me 3 years ago when it was replaced by a 2009 black limited expo, now mine has 190k on it and runs awesome
+1 on everything mentioned above, 4 extra monitors may give you problems if you just tapped directly to the headunit so a relay (delayed is a good idea) is the best option. Then the video signal amp will make sure they're all getting strong signals, instead of being cut down from using a bunch...
You can tap into basically any of the illumination wires going to a nearby switch. For the footwells, it might be easiest to take out your ac controls and tap into the wires that go to the plug in light bulb that illuminates that since its kinda in the center of where you're looking to install...
Sounds like more work than it really is but trust me it's worth it. Nothing bothers me more than seeing someone spray tint lights and have them have the orange peel texture or a matte finish lol. Once the clear is dry, the wetsanding and polishing stuff will only take an extra like 15-20 min but...
Well I went to another exhaust shop today and got to look at it for myself, seems like the first cat on each side is kinda small and the rear ones are the bigger of the two. And the o2 sensors are behind each of the rears. So I know that it has been done before, but im still hesitant because i...
