Well, it’s time to update my experience after another 6 months.
In late May I had about 1600 miles on the Expy. Yeah, it is a second car and I drive the X4M40 most of the time. I brought it in for an oil change before leaving. The service greeter told me it did not need one yet, I explained...
There should be a way in the navigation app to mark the current location of the truck, give it a name, and later navigate back to t location. But I cannot find it either in the menus or in the manual. Does anyone know of a way to do that?

It works well. Having the carpet covered makes it much easier to vacuum out the grass and dirt. Not perfect, but the best I have found for the back end of any hatchback or wagon.
I pulled the purchase string on FORScan Lite for Android today. I can get it connected to the OBD device, and it sees the Expedition but pops up a message that says “Unable to identify the vehicle”. I was able to read the Callibration ID from the Expedition using another app, but typing that...
There are two different limits involved - towing capacity and gross weight maximum. The towing capacity is Lenny to pull that trailer. But the gross weight is not going to make it. The tongue weight of your trailer will be between 500 and 800 points depending on the cargo and where it is...
If you are listening to satellite it may be the signal there. FM stations with good strong signals should be better. But the surround channels require information that is not always present in every station.
I agree - I was playing with Android Auto to get some applications on the Expy screen. There are a list of apps on the phone that look like they should work, but I cannot get them to migrate over to the 15” Sync4. Although the navigation does work - the other day I got in after looking up the...
I am surprised at how compliant the ride is with the 304a and CCD. I have a 2017 BMW X4M40, and that one is significantly harsher around city driving than the Expy. Possibly the shorter wheelbase impacts that, but I really expected this to be more like a truck. Get the CCD, you will be happy.
If you are worried about the ride, you can upgrade to the Limited Stealth and then add the Continuous Controlled Damping with Suspension Road Preview. I added that on mine and love it. See if you can drive one at the dealer with the 22” wheels, and then drive a Platinum which comes standard...
I thought about that - the value of that is really only 2 things - visual eye candy, and sound reduction. And the foamy makeup should improve the sound as much as possible. A big sheet of hard plastic would rattle and vibrate the way that is bolted to the top of the engine, ruining it for...
Hi folks,
I have had my Expedition for almost a month now and I thought I would document my experience in case it might be useful to someone considering a purchase. Just a little background first so you understand what I am comparing the vehicle to as my experience and expectations may be...
This is the first time I have had an adaptive cruise in any car, as well as the lane keeping feature. I am learning how to get the trailing distance to the car I am following set to an appropriate place (to keep from having every grandmother running 20 mph slower cut me off in the big gap)...
Make certain that the dealer includes your email address in the order - you will get an email when it is ordered, and be able to verify the options ordered and track the process.
Just reading this thread - you may have a payload issue when traveling. You said in post 31 above that you have 950 pounds of family and 947 pounds of trailer tongue weight and hitch - a total of 1897 pounds of potential payload. That is a bit more than your rated payload. So if the family total...
I have my ‘23 Expy in the garage. I just got a phone call from the dealer that I originally tried to order from (and could not get a confirmation that it happened). He said that they just unloaded the one I spec’ed from the truck and did I still want it? Said they would not offer it to anyone...
Software issues seem to challenge any auto mechanic that has not been exposed to developing software in his career. If it takes something other than a wrench to fix it, it is difficult to figure out. I spent my entire working life writing software, both real time process control and...
There are at least two sources from Ford that confirm the 22 speaker B&O is still part of the 304a package. Plus it is not an option in build and price. Mine is due to be delivered next week, if that is not there I am going to be quite upset.
