    Newb over here

Hey, I have been on the other forum for a couple months and was given a friendly hint today that I might wanna check this place out. So if you don't know about me, I am in the army and work as a weapons instructor. I have been in for 10 years and have a wife and four kids and bought my expy to...

how will it run with gutted cats

How much did you pay for that setup, I would like to do something like that and the exhaust shops around here are all saying $400 and up just to replace from the muffler back! I would like to cut out the rear cats and run a dual in dual out muffler (magnaflow or flowmaster) with both...

    I am done!

I never had a problem with the steering besides that it is a little on the light side (to much assist). But the suspension feels much better now after upgrading to polyurethane bushings and replacing all the stock crap. Pics are coming when the rain finishes up.

    Falken Rocky Mountain ATS

I only buy Michelins for my motorcycle since they want to much money for their truck tires. For the money Falken, Nitto, Kumho, and Hankook make great tires. This is my first set of Falkens but I really like em so far. If they last more than 40,000 miles I will defienently be buying them again.

    WTB-Trade-Sell: Stock Wheels & Tires

Jodylee, have you ruled out the possibility of one of the tires having a shifted or thrown belt? That could be the problem you are having. What size are the wheels, they look like either a 16x8 or possibly even 16x9? I would be interested in your wheels without the tires. I have stock...

how will it run with gutted cats

I used the spacer (non fouler) on my Infiniti G35 that was running headers, and test pipes (no cats at all) and would get a check engine light once in a blue moon after flogging the car. I just went to O'reilly's to borrow the scan tool and it was reset for another several months.

    Tinkering with the expo

You can still do the gotts mod with the stock filter. It will flow more air but not quite as much as a K&N. I bought a used K&N off ebay for around $25 including shipping.

    I am done!

You bring the beer and parts and then we can bust our knuckle together so you can get those big tires down the road smoothly.

    Falken Rocky Mountain ATS

My drive to work this morning included sleet and rain and the roads were fairly slick and these tires performed flawlessly at highway speeds. I run my pressure at 36 psi and they ride very nicely with very little road noise. I also added four ounces per tire of balancing beads [...

    98 expy fob (keyless entry)

Thanks for posting this, I just programmed a new remote (cycled key 8 times) for my 1997 in about 10 seconds withoug sifting through thousands of google links.

    I am done!

I have replaced nearly every piece of my suspension. The only parts left are the springs, lower front a-arms, and track bar that I wire brushed and coated with bed liner. I finished up today with the front upper a-arms, shocks, and ball joints. The front and rear anti-sway bar bushing were...

Need some help finding a shock

I will post my thoughts on my Pro Comp ES9000's once I get the time to put them on. I am doing 2'' spacers in the rear with a 2-3 torsion crank for the front. I only paid $150 including shipping for all 4, so the price was just a couple bucks more than buying the most basic Gabriel bargain...

    1998 expy window problem

If you hear clicking it could be the motor trying to lift the regulator and the gears are stripped. I had the same thing happen to my drivers window.

    Darn spinning screw!!!

Looks like you need to use two wrenches, one to hold the bolt and the other to turn the nut off. If you do that your bolt will not spin while you are taking your nut off.

    Darn spinning screw!!!

Yes that is normal, my rear end links did that and I just grabbed the opposite side from the bolt with some vise-grips and turned the bolt off. If your end links are like these you can do what I did...

    Darn spinning screw!!!

The bolts in the anti sway bar end links are spinning? You mentioned that you bolted up a new anti-sway bar, new end links should have been included. But if they weren't you can pick up a pair of end links for $30 or less. Once AutoZone opens back up you should be able to buy a new set and...

    powdercoating

If you can meet the guy face to face to see his shop, you can tell alot just by doing that. Also ask him if he has any previous work that you could take a look at to see the quality. A good price for dropping the wheels off (with tires still on) and picking everything up ready to put back on...

    powdercoating

Media can be anything from glass particles to plastic, they use it the pulverize the surface of the metal instead of sand. A good powdercoater should have a cabinet to strip metal so you can get everything done in one stop.

    powdercoating

Have the wheels media blasted and there should be no problems with powdercoating. Just ask around and see who is recommended in your area.

Build your own trailing arms and Track bar

I forgot to mention I used a 19 mm combo as a cheater to get some more torque. That might have had something to do with bending the wrench. ;)

    need help wiring radio

If your premium stereo is the same as my 97 then you don't have a sub. There is a factory amp that one of those harnesses goes to. I used a plug in adaptor to wire my Kenwood up. Your best bet would be to find a wiring schematic in a Haynes or Mitchell manual (I have been looking for one also).

Build your own trailing arms and Track bar

I got my upper trailing arms today and was surprised to find out they are made by Moroso. They are high quality pieces with glossy black powdercoating, and polyurethane bushings. I should have bought the lowers from them too since I would have actually paid less overall, since my track bar...

Build your own trailing arms and Track bar

That is exactly what happened to me with the track bar bushings, hopefully the trailing arm bushings aren't the same way because that was a headache for me. I won't drill out the sleeve again, I will just go and buy new 14 mm bolts instead of using the 16 mm.
