Actually, I can't tell the difference. Highways are smooth, so no difference. Offroad, I am so stoked that I'm not getting stuck that I just keep moving. Nobody in the car is complaining either (wife, kid, dog).
Personal preference, but the bigger tires look more balanced imo. Plus, a little ride height helps clear bumps. Measure your clearance with a tape measure and you can figure out how large you can go without problems, leaving some space, of course.
Stock, my 2011 was a dog because of high centering. I travel remote desert locations for work, and if I can't drive, then I have to walk. About 10,000 miles ago I lifted 2" with some coil spring spacers and put 33.5 tires on (Hercules 10 ply), plus a skid plate. WOW, what a difference.

I have a 2011 Expy 5.4 with the transmission cooler. I tow 6500 pounds over a 7500' mountain at sustained speeds of 65 mph for 3 hours. The truck is working, but not strained. I have never had temperature or braking issues. Hope this helps.
I have 33.5, lifted, but don't need the lift for tire clearance. I could easily go 35" tires with the lift. BTW, the lift was less than $400 (2" spacers, shopping around), and really really really helps with offroad clearance. I previously high-centered on bs little bumps and now command the...
As long as you are under the weight limits set by Ford, you probably will do good. I tow a 6500 pound set up (tractor on 18' trailer), and haul it across the Sierra Nevada mountains at 65 mph on a somewhat windy but high speed road. This road is very steep in places and climbs to 7500 feet. This...
2011 Expedition XL with heavy tow package, I bought it new. At about 40-50k miles it felt like it was starting to get broken in. Great off road vehicle, mine is lifted 2" with 33" tires and I beat it hard on the dirt for work. Plenty of space. Great mileage (about 18.1 average, with a lot of in...
Correction. This was not the ReadyLift. It was the spacers from FatBobsGarage. The spacers actually came from a place in LA and started with an R (forgot the name), but are popular and sell for up to $400 elsewhere. Sorry for the error. Here is the part I used...
I did the Ready lift recently (Fat Bob, $240). I also increased the tires to 275/70/18 (F150 rims) and went with Hercules 10 ply rated AT tires. I love the ride, especially the off road performance. Very much better. Gas mileage about the same (18.1 mpg on recent 1000 mile trip with 300 miles...
