Check the back of the brake petel for the cruise issue. There is a plunger back there that has to be hit. On mine the braket that holds the plunger had been bent over the years. Easy fix.
On the adjustable petels, the most common issue with that is the gears inside the assy the plastic gear...
COP is another name for coil packs? I will check them out tonight. I have actually already clean a mass air flow sensor. My only question about the coil pack is if they were the cause of the problem when the truck does act up wouldnt the engine shake?

I tried posting this a few months back and no 1 has any ideas so I am going to try again. I have a 2003 ford expedition XLT 5.4. Over the course of the last year I have been experiencing some power issues. I noticed the power issue the most when I am pulling a load. It's hard to properly...
Screwed up o2 sensor can screw with your MPG too. I have had one that was not tripping the check engine light but was not reporting correctly and gave me terrible performance and MPG in warm temps but was fine in cold temps.
I agree with betro. Check the float on the pump. Mine was acting up and I pulled out the pump and the float had a little bit of an issue moving up and down. I just cleaned it up with a little bit of steel wool and then it was fine.

Assuming u have the tools to do it just get the truck in the air and go for it. Since u have the experience with the other truck it should b easy. The suspension is fairly similar.
I have not personally done the ball joints on this truck so no input there.
One thing to keep in mind is you...
You have to remove the two rear pillars and the two middle ones and the two or three push pins (whatever they are call) to remove the headliner enough to get to it. Its in between the headliner and the top of the truck at the very back. Its pretty small from what i remember maybe 3 or 4 inches...
Superchips :-).
I use it on my 03 and it works great on top of that i use ScanXL Pro and an OBDII Bluetooth adapter to really dig in deep.
Either way you go its worth it.
Have the front dif inspected. Sounds like it may be engaging and creating drag.
Just a guess but i bet it does have something to do with the front end of the 4wd system.
I know if i have mine in 4wd and make a tight turn the front diff will lock and i cant move until i straiten the...
I have been having power issues on my expy for a while now and I think I have narrowed it down to the o2 sensor by using a obd2 software. One of the sensors is staying around .62v. Anyway I need to try to replace it. However its the on on the passenger side on the manifold. HOW THE HELL DO U...
Ok, filter is fine.
However i have noticed something. I took the truck on a 900 mile round trip and it seemed that when the temp got higher i had more problems. I left around 12pm and all most the entire way there i was having power delivery issues. Downshifting not only into od but also...
OK great ill check out the fuel filter.
Not sure how to check the coil packs. if i remember correctly you have to check resistance from the pack right? anyone know the proper way?
changed plugs fuel filter about 30k miles ago.
Mine is a 2003 Expy XLT 4wd with the 5.4 motor.
Never have changed out the coils at all. But i would think if it was a coil that the engine would shake and it would throw a code. However its smooth acceleration.
Hello all, i have been noticing that my truck has started to loose power at lower RPM's (1000-2000). Sometimes i will take off from a dead stop and just will have no power. Then it gets up to about 1800 rpm or so and starts to act normal. But it does not do this all the time.
Now about 6...
Awesome man thats what i wanted to hear. You know that the 1950 is internet upgradeable? If you wouldnt mind can you check and see if there is an update for yours and report back with any changes?
Wow after reading this i guess i can no longer complain about my MPG. If i drive like an old man in town. Never getting above 1500 RPM. I can get damn near 22 in town. (I bet everyone is going to say "impossible" but i can do it) However Normal driving gets me 15-18. On the interstate best...
I have an 03 Expy XLT 5.4L and i currently have a K&N CAI and Flowmaster Cat back exhaust. Im wanting to be able to tune it for MPG and Towing. I called Superchips and they say that they dont have a tune for the expy 5.4 with CAI and free flow exhaust. However i spoke with a guy at a shop...
I just installed a flowmaster system and its a 3" pipes all the way back. Mine is the 03 5.4L 4x4. Sounds like your exhaust man is being lazy or something.
