Changed out halogen for LED today

I decided to try the Philips HIR 9011 bulbs (requires tab trimming) for the lows first. Also some LED 3000k bulbs for the lows. I looked at the fog lens and found no bulb spec, but I did find it for the highs and lows.

Stuck at an intersection, Expedition 2019 won't start.

Roughy the car in to the dealer. They said that the battery was fine, but the trailer brake controller was not letting the module go to sleep, causing a parasitic drain. I had just installed one I bought off Amazon as mentioned above. So I ordered a genuine Ford part. Hope that one works normally.

Stuck at an intersection, Expedition 2019 won't start.

the battery in my new-to-me 2020 seems bad. After sitting for two days over which I installed 2 sets of roof rack load bars (ill-fitting Amazon then OE ford), battery was dead at 8.xx volts. Jump pack got it started and the alt charged it up to 12.7v. Let it sit overnight and it was down to...

Changed out halogen for LED today

Awesome. Noticed that all the online things and the owners manual are wrong about the bulbs in my 2020. They say H11 low and 9005 high. But I have 9005 low and h9 highs. Kind of a pain because 9005s (HB3) are usually used for high beam positions.

Changed out halogen for LED today

One more question—if I get the canbus adapters, do I still need to make any changes in forscan? Or will the adapters make the car “think” it still has halogen bulbs?

Changed out halogen for LED today

Ok good info. So I should get the "decoder" or whatever they call it? Same for fogs too? I'm keeping the halogen highs.

Changed out halogen for LED today

After more reading, since I have a 2020 I guess I can just use the plain English drop down way of coding?

Changed out halogen for LED today

Sorry for the newb question, but if I install LEDs in halogen projectors, I need to edit all of those lines (I’m seeing 3 different lines) to look like: 726-26-02. Xxxx 0000 X0xx (changes in 2 last sets) 726-27-01. 0000 xxxx xxxx 726-27-02. 0000 xxxx xxxx Am i understanding this correctly? I...

    Just got Forscan

As the title states, I just downloaded forscan today. Waiting on the dongle from Amazon. Bought it to activate the factory-style brake controller I installed, because I don't want to pay a dealer $$$ to do so. There's a lot of info about forscan and tweaks to do here and the inner web in...

    Hello

Well I got the brake controller installed. Unclipping the dash pieces was a little unnerving since I didn’t want to crack or scratch anything in this new to me car, but my trusty trim tools got the job done without any damage. It also helps that the pieces are new plastic—my other car...

    Hello

Ok that’s what I thought. I only tow a 10’ box pop up camper, so I don’t need the HD tow package. Max weight of my pop up is 2750 or so. My brake controller from Amazon came yesterday. Going to install it today.

    Hello

I found that I do have the plug behind the little cubby where the factory brake controller goes. Ordered one to install; I understand it needs to be turned on in the coding to work. From what I've read (mostly here) there are two towing packages--normal and HD. Is what you're describing...

    Hello

I bought it used. It has the receiver and 7-pin plug. Is there something like the RPO sticker you find on GM trucks?

    Hello

Hey guys new to the forum, new to fords. Just bought a 2020 Expedition Max Limited to replace my 2010 Z71 Suburban. Before that I had an 01 Suburban. I use the big utes for towing my pop up camper and for road trips with the family (6 kids though only three left at home) to Minnesota and...
