Don't forget that Gen 3 have a 6 speed auto versus 4 and could be better fuel economy and drive ability. Parts more readily available. A truck ages not just with miles, thing corrode, become brittle and break more easily. The exception would be maybe if a vehicle was garaged rather than sitting...
Are you talking cold or hot starts? What fuel rating and blend do you use? Weaker summer blends will be over soon so back to a little more punch in a gallon of fuel maybe this will help also.
Glad to hear you pulled it with no problem. I want to rent one first to take to the N.C./Tenn. Mtns. to see if we like it. I just got to figure out how to get the m/c there as well.
The last Excursion was in 2005 (with diesels even rarer) and are not getting any newer. I think you will simply...
I had seen one before and would have lost on a bet of what is made of. You are right, plastic bolted on an engine who would have thought it so. That is just wrong.
That looks bad
The inside of that pipe looks nasty. Can you imagine what the rest of the cooling system looks like? Time for some PM before she cooks off.
Are y'all saying that crossover is plastic?
One minute late after toms89! Is the sputter like a surge or more like a cut off? What happens in park when you idle at different rpm's? Still do it? How about when increasing rpm's? Yes the codes would really help. I think Sears and Pep Boys and many part's stores will do the OBDII codes for free.
Does not sound like a cat converter to me. You would notice power reduction and smell it every time you accelerated up to highway speed. Like rotten eggs and sulfur cooking.
I would look at a fuel problem and try the filter, run a cleaning additive and dryer then change fuel source.
Next if...
They are all over Amazon and Ebay. From an Ebay page at the bottom there are more links. I can save you the time though on Ebay they start about $15. and go to $150.00. not much different any other place maybe a little higher off the Ebay site I guess the competition on Ebay is working for the...
Just me, its hard to believe that after 154,000kms those heads are in good enough shape for installation on a new block w/o some kind of resurfacing or something.
Yes and no. I know there is for a 2012 that has all functions including remote start on one key. Aftermarket remote start needs a third key for the chip in it. It is buried in the dash. You can then program the oem key to use unlock three times to start. Saves expense of cutting new key.
In...
Yes, FordandPolaris is right, ebay has all of the keys and remotes and instructions for all. I bought a new key yesterday thinking about using it as the slave for remote start system. Then today I might have found a good deal on a OEM unit that does not need it.
