I would check with the Ford parts department to find out if your truck has all of the necessary wiring for the factory nav unit.
I have also heard of people saying that the new tom-tom and garmin gps units are alot better than the factory nav plus those are updateable fairly easy. Most after...
You do have to take it to the Dealer to get the second key programed ( unfortunatley :( ) They will have to hook it to the computer and go into the actual PATS security file and manually add the second key to the security module.
Once you have two keys that are programmed then you can...
Unfortunatly mine is the same way. The plug is attached to the battery tray, but nothing hooked to it. I will try and look over some wiring diagrams because now it has me wondering what it is.
After seeing the update on the tranny probably not The whole truck, but I would possibly be interested in the supercharger if it will bolt up to the 5.4L.
Is that OEM Ford or an aftermarket?
I am saving up to put in a double din headunit so that I can use the dual zone function of DVD in the rear and music in the front.
The hardest part of the job is usually getting the mechanical clutch fan loose from the water pump snout. Make sure you do this while the drive belt is still on, it will aid in holding the water pump pulley in place while you get the fan loose.
I will look at my '02 tomorrow when there is light and it's not so cold. I don't remember seeing a plug like that right off hand but then again havn't really looked for it either. If mine has it and it is connected I will trace it and let you know what I find.
I have an after market temp gauge installed into the intake coolant passage and during cold weather (15 F - 35 F ) on the interstate I run about 140F and in the summer I only run 180 F on the interstate and 200 F in city traffic and my heater will blow you out of the truck.
Anything over...
There is an IR transmitter built into the unit so you should not need anything else. Also to get sound from all speakers, if you look up where the screen is usually in the closed position you see a small selector switch ( it is black and kinda hard to see - they should have made it another...
Change the pump.
When at idle you may be observing "good" flow ( or even reving the motor a little ), but when you are out driving worn impeller fins will cause cavitation and you will not get the correct heat transfer and flow will go down.
For both front and rear systems to be having the...
I would go to your local Autozone or Oreilly ( or any other parts house ) they usually have a hand held tester where they can test your battery and charging system in your car so that you don't have to pull anything. Being that cold it could be a battery getting weak.
If the battery...
Have to agree on the Pioneer. You get more "Bang for your buck" but as stated their nav decks do have a steep price tag. The only thing I can say is stay away from ebay when it comes to new decks. If you do not buy the deck from an " AUTHORIZED RETAILER " then you have no warranty...
I am running the 6" Hella 500FF lights. They are only a couple of inches thick and don't weigh very much at all. They are also a spot light style beam so they go pretty far.
Some guys are mounting them to the fiberglass cross bar that runs left to right behind the grille, I myself mounted them to the vertical fiberglass supports on the sides.
Just drill thru and use the supplied hardware for the lights. If you get really heavy lights I would recomend using thin...
They will work as replacements, but the factory amp will not push it so you would have to either use a line level amp or put in after market HU with RCA's so that you could connect it.
Not sure on the MTX, but I know on the JL you have to use the grille that comes with it because the factory...
I put mine in the center console just in front of the cup holders dead center. It makes it nice to have it in easy reach, but it can also get you in trouble because it is that much easier to hit when some one is on coming with their brights on.
Simple you only have to run 1 wire inside the cab the rest are under the hood. The wire that you run inside will conect to the switch ( where ever you put it ) and then you just need to tap power and ground for the switch.
The relay assembly under the hood gets hooked to the battery and...
Glad to hear that it was not a head gasket, and I agree I would never go back to that place. In fact I would be calling the BBB ( Better Business ) and placing a report/complaint on them.
White smoke from the tail pipe is almost always and indication of a blown head gasket ( coolant getting into cylinders ). If it where blue or blueish then it would be more along the lines of rings.
Check your oil and make sure that it is not "milky" ( it is bad if it looks like milk...
I told my wife I don't want another $100+ dollar gas bill from the furnace use again this year. I can get 4 cords of mixed fir and oak for $20 and that will last all winter.
Plus it gave me an excuse to go by a new saw :D .
And like Panda said, in southern NM there is not a lot around...
The Expy handles the load really well thanks to the air ride, we hauled it back home about 100 miles and could barley even tell it was there. Yeah and the weather reminded me of back home since I am originaly from the Portland, OR area.
It really is personal preferance. The Flowmasters are famouse for there "DRONE" but that is why I went with the Flowmaster 70 series big block muffler since it is made for SUV's and there is bearly any Drone at all ( neither my wife or daughter have said anything and I have asked them about it...
Our recent woodcutting trip to Cloudcroft New Mexico, It was cold as hell and we got caught out in the snow. It was still fun and want to go back for more in a couple weeks.
