The strip comes on a plastic C channel, if you look in the pic with my hand in it you can see the bumper cover lifts up just enough to " slip " the C channel underneith it. If you look really close in the second pic you can see the C channel.
I do not have any screws or tape or anything...
It is a 3' antenna, and yes the base stays on the roof. The nice thing about the base being "magnetic" is that if I actually need to use the roof rack on top to haul something, I can move the base back enough to clear whatever I need.
So even thou the base is always there with the cable...
A lot of todays " Superchargers " are now oil cooled with engine oil as well. Granted some do have there own oil supply but a lot of them are plumbed in just like a turbo.
Granted yes Heat is an enemy to any engine, but it is a bigger enemy to ANY supercharger or turbo. The best thing to...
Here ya go, here are the pics that I said I would post. Like I said no screws needed to hold it in place, just lift the corner of the bumper cover and slip it betweeen.
Excuse how dirty she is! We have had a couple of what we like to call " 10 mile rains " ( one drop every 10 miles ):jester...
Here are a couple of pics for ya. This is the quick disconect that I have on my Mag mount, like I said before it works really good and it is easy as push and turn to take the antenna off / put it on.
Agreed I like the old power steering, but the reason they changed over was because the first gens liked to "wonder" all over the road.
The rack and pinion "tammed the beast" so to speak.
I hard wired it to the truck since all I have is a 7 pin that way I don't have to use the adapter and even when towing I still have the bar functional.
It has kept me from a couple of tickets during the daytime hours, the cop hits his lights because he says he wouldn't be able to see my brake...
On my '02 with the 5.4L I got rid of the factory Y and ran dual 2.5" pipes into a 70 big block series Flowmaster Dual In / Single out and got rid of the rear resonator as well. I also did the rear cat delete, but left the front 2 in place.
I did loose a little bit of Torque, but it more than...
You may want to pull the caliper and make sure that the area where the pads sit into the caliper is lubed really good ( the c - notch on the end of the pads ). If the caliper is binding then it will not return to it's "resting" position, causing the issue you are having.
When ever I do...
The part about the rack and pinion is a good one, but it does not apply to his truck since it is a 2000.
The first Gens still run a drag link, they did not swap to the rack and pinion until 2003.
If you look in my album you will see that I have one.
It is really easy to install I just turned it upside down and slid the plastic channel that it comes on under the bumper cover, it holds it tight and no need for any screws. It sits flush on the cover and is recessed under the gate so you...
Yeah it is really easy, just snip the wire and connect one end to the " on " position of the switch then connect the other end to the " supply or Hot " position of the switch. Just make sure that it is the " LIGHT BROWN " wire that you cut and before running it to the switch, see if you can get...
On the " other " forum there was a write up on it and 2 people did just that. They did the " brown wire mod " then backed it into a mud hole ( the other was snow ) and let the tires fly.
There was no mention of a CEL anywhere in that thread.
I have not heard of them planning on the Eco-Boost motor in the Expy yet. I know they had some changes planned but the last I heard that was put on the " back burner " for the time being.
The Eco-Boost is a great motor. It has been in the new Taurus SHO since it came out and there have been...
unfortunatly that sounds like a mechanical issue inside the trans.
You can try to drop the pan and see if there is anything broken or in the way of the shaft, but more than likely it will have to come out.
I havn't seen any but that does not mean they do not exist. If you do find one you will probably pay alot for it thou and I think that performance would still suffer.
The best thing that I have found is the " Quick Disconect " you have a full size antenna but if you wanna take it off you do...
The newer Expy's don't have the 2H selection on the switch, so they are either A4wd, 4H or 4L. That is what the "Brown Wire Mod " is for, so that the guys with the newer trucks can get some what of a 2wd.
The regular radio antenna will not work for a CB. You can get smaller antennas, but they will some times work and sometimes not.
I am currently running a 3' antenna on a Magnet mount with a " Quick Connect " (Push down on the antenna and twist a 1/4 turn and the antenna is off) it works...
The "Brown Wire Mod" is cutting the Brown wire that goes into the transfer case.
By doing this you are taking the power away from the magnetic clutch that engages the front axel when wheel spin is detected ( basically puts it into a 2wd mode ).
If you do this mod you will loose the A4wd...
Since it is a 4wd I am not sure. If it was a 2wd I would have said to check your hub bearings but the 4wds use a different hub.
I would pull off the wheels and check to make sure all of the caliper bolts are tight ( also make sure they have lube on them so the caliper will "glide"), and then...
WHAT!!!!!!!
By removing the tow hitch you are in no way effecting "Effeciency or Torque".
The only thing you would effect is if you can tow a trailer or not, and by what some are saying the bumper cover may be a bit loose.
I would have to do a bit more research to see if you would be...
