Also these tranny's come with a REUSABLE pan gasket. Do not throw it away and do not use the POS rubber gasket that will come with the filter. Just clean the factory one with a bit of brake cleaner ( do the inside of the pan as well, but DO NOT spray it up into the transmission ) and put it...
Yeah if you have the 5.4l it is going to be the 4r100 but if you want to double check then look at the number of bolts that hold the transmission pan on:
4r100 = 20 bolts
4r70W = 14 bolts
I don't have any photos but if when you change the filter you can not figure it out, let me know and...
When you have the pan off for doing the filter you will see the solenoid PACK unfortunatly unlike other transmissions ( like stated above about the focus which has individual solenoids) all solenoids are in a single pack on the 4r100.
It is easy to change unbolt/unplug and put the new in but...
Hope this helps! Let us know how everything turns out!

Also what settings did you change on your Edge as far as shifting goes? Try putting it back on the stock "factory" tune and see if the issue goes away.
Take it home and do a trans service ( fluid and filter ) if you are still getting the codes then it may very well be a solinoid pack wich for the 4r100 is about $200 + new oil. The solenoid pack controls all upshifts in the 4r100 so more than likley its a combo of nedding a service and possibly...
I would rather like to find a way to convert to 6 lug ( probably not possible without wheel adapters ) since almost all newer trucks and suv's are running 6 lugs so all the new wheels are to! Plus you can find 6 lug ford wheels all over CL for cheap!
Panda - for your issue I would say try putting your truck back on the stock tune and see if it still does this!
BTW which trans do you have? If you can let me know I will try to pull up some info on it. I don't think you are running the 4r100 becuase of your year but I am just not sure.
Nope not me! I am still using CD's thats why I replaced the factory changer with a Pioneer that way my HU will control it :waytogo: that and the factory changer never worked when I bought the truck!
I like I pods don't get me wrong, I just hate their f**ing software :shooter: all of my music...
You shouldn't have a week pump with that low of milage and if you did have a week pump you would notice problems with reverse first since it takes the most pressure to operate.
The blinking O/D light can be more than just low line pressure, that light is used for any malfunction or fault...
If you are that low on fluid and don't have any to put in then leave it parked until you can put some more fluid in!
Between low fluid and the blinking light you could possibly cause some damage by driving it.
Check the transmission on the passanger side of the truck, about half way up the side of the tranny you should see 2 hard metal lines going in to the trans. Is it leaking at either of those lines and running down or is it just the pan gasket leaking ( run you finger around the edge of the pan...
Where is the leak coming from?
If it is just from the pan or the tail shaft then no that would not cause the blinking O/D light, but if it is coming from a pressure line then it could.
INTERCEPTOR - In most situations low fluid level would not cause the light to flash, but you do bring up...
Are you sure it is a class III and not a class IV reciver hitch?
Can you snap a picture of the trailer wiring conections ( the 7 pin and 4 pin conectors) and post it up so we can see if it is factory or not?
As for wired for trailer brakes - All expeditions are pre wired for trailer...
Also try not do drive it much until you can get the codes read. If there is a problem with low pressure or something else you could end up causing damage that may lead to a rebuild.
The first thing you will need to do is find some one that can read the TRANSMISSION trouble codes. The Blinking O/D light can be anything from a low pressure reading to a bad sensor or a bad shift solenoid.
Basically Ford uses the Blinking O/D light as kinda a CEL for the transmission. It...
If you do have rear coils, then you do not have the air bags. The air ride system replaces the coils with air bags such as the ones you see on high end motor homes and semi trucks ( just a smaller version ).
It sounds to me like your rear coils are "sagging" and could need replaced.
Exactly there is just one bolt to the block that holds the dip stick in place (when I did my trans swap I just left the upper portion of the tube in the truck).
As far as finding one you will probably be better off trying to find one in a wrecking yard. Bad feeling that may be a dealer only...
