The cooler you keep the fluid the longer the transmission's soft parts will last (seals and whatnot). The trans cooler lines are low pressure so you usually just cut the hard line and attach rubber hose to that spot with hose clamps. I recommend cutting the outlet of the factory cooler (in the...
first thing i would try is cranking the motor over by hand. you can use a deep socket and a big ratchet or breakover bar and connect to the bolt that holds the harmonic balancer in..... turning clockwise of course....
nope. Just what's in the filter and a little bit extra is all you have to replace by changing the filter (around 1/2 quart). The fl820s is just too short of a filter to have enough surface area to go the distance in my opinion. I have been thinking about doing a remote mount filter kit and...
The factory ford filter is the best for the money. I think most of the filters are the same as the Purolator Pure one synthetic filters.
I use Mobil 1 5W30 with the factory filter FL820S and change the filter at 3000 miles and run the oil till 6000 then change both.

I'm thinking about ported heads next and figuring out some way to adapt a higher flowing intake too. I wonder how hard it is to adapt a 4.6 intake to the 5.4. I know there are adapter plates but what about the throttle body elbow? There is an aftermarket intake for the 4.6 that flows alot...
I would also ask if you used an adapter harness or spliced into the factory. If it is an aftermarket harness you need power on both the red and yellow wires with the key on...

Most of the intakes are the same just make sure whatever you get only draws air from outside and not under the hood. Hot air from under the hood will kill any gains that the better flow makes.
Look for K&N to be the first with an intake kit.

it could be an intermittant spark failure. The EGR valve could also be getting stuck open or the EGR flow sensor could be reporting not enough flow and opening up the EGR too much. It could be alot of things really....... is the Check Engine light on?
Matt R
no you are probably talking about the power antenna wire. Just connect one of the blue wires from the head unit to the blue wire on the harness kit and don't worry about it. I put a kenwood headunit in mine and didn't have any problems.

Okay... PM box cleaned out!
sorry about that.
I'm still not getting notifications of of thread responses and PMs to my email.... I wonder what is going on...
Not sure on this one because the rear on the 6 lug expeds is independent rear suspension that have a half shaft instead of a solid axle. You would have to do alot of conversion to get the 6 lug pattern in the rear using some kind of factory parts. Aftermarket would be able to custom make you...
Now you need a good programmer to fix the speedo and tune for the exhaust and intake upgrades.... Hint Hint
Drop me a PM!
Oh and just make sure your rear O2 sensors are behind your new cats otherwise you will throw a code, but then again that can be eliminated in programming as well...
What year model are we talking about here. The pipe on the 03 and up use 2.5" OD primary with 2.75" tailpipe. Kind of a strange setup. The most improvement IMO would be simply replacing the factory Y-pipe section with a magnaflow piece and adding a good cat-back system. The Cats aren't worth...
A single 3" exhaust is more than you will ever need unless you do something really ludacris (not the rapper....LOL)
2.5 inch has an area of 4.9 inches so you have 9.8 sq inches of flow area for dual 2.5 inch pipes.
3 inch has an area of 7.065 inches
Now those calcuations give approx...
http://www.grabthepower.com/ is IMCO's site. They are sold through most of the muffler shops across america. Their stuff is pretty cheap and really good quality...... and for some reason my picture won't attach.

I buy my mandrel U bends from summit racing and cut and weld to the desired curves. You can reuse most of the stock pipe if you do this.....
Eliminate the front cats, you will need to use some bends here. Put the new high flow cats in the first straight section (where the pipe goes straight)...
