    the flowmaster will give you good low end because it will give you just a bit of backpressure. What size is your stock pipe? 2.5 is smaller than stock isn't it?

    I can't really tell what is going on, I saw the rpms drop but they didn't come back up in the video. It could also be the torque converter trying to lockup at WOT which happens in some calibrations. Matt R

    The cooling failsafe mode turns off cylinders and air cools the engine in the event of overheating. You would definitely know if this was going on..... What is being experienced is the timing being retarded due to air intake temperature....... This is less pronounced with a higher octane...

    Which cat back are you planning on going with? I put on a magnaflow muffler with the stock pipe and then put on a 3 inch pipe later and the low end and part throttle was better with just the better muffler on the stock 2.75" pipe. Matt R

    yes, but none of the aftermarket canned reflash devices you buy address this, they just tune for the best power at WOT..... There are some custom tuners out there that can address this. PM me if interested.

    Transmission Issue - I Think

    see if your exhaust bracket rubbers are worn or you have any of the exhaust touching the frame or body. My exhaust vibrates really bad at 2000 rpms and moderate throttle and i had a bad exhaust hanger and it sounded like someone was showering the floorboards with rocks..... Matt R

    depending on your factory calibration it may be pulling alot of timing to keep it from pinging when the air temperature gets really hot.... this will kill the power.... glad I've only seen 105 degrees here in TX.....LOL Matt R

    The question is how many cats are on it and where are the rear oxygen sensors? anything behind the rear oxygen sensors isn't being monitored by the computer and is just there to scrub any remaining polutants. Of course you are a rancher and are concerned with setting the meadow on fire...

    this can be fixed with a custom tune.... you have noticed the same thing that seems to plague all of the trucks. It makes a big difference when 3rd gear is held a little longer at part throttle. Matt R

    Yeah, but don't make the mistake I did and try load range c tires that you can't put more than 35 psi in. I guess the compromise would be the D range tires.... i don't know the 03 and newer ones ride so nice I don't know if you would even notice the rougher ride....

    I agree with Elvato... the more highway a tire (fewer tread voids) the less rolling resistance. Also make sure you get a load range E or better tire if possible so you can run lots of air pressure which also reduces rolling resistance.... Matt R

    it could actually be your power steering pump too. Get it flushed and filled with good fluid. Mine made noise because someone put ATF in it....... Matt R

    don't go crazy with the cams.... comp's smallest ones would even be a bit much for these heavy trucks.... Crane and crower make some nice modular cams that won't kill the bottom end. Matt R

    A cold air kit and cat-back exhaust are the first mods i would do. The stock exhaust manifolds on these trucks are pretty good compared to the older trucks. A good tune works wonders too.. Matt R

    Breezy.... Make sure if the kit included different (bigger) injectors that the truck isn't driven one bit without reprogramming the PCM. I have seen the cataylitic converters ruined in less than a mile when someone put bigger injectors on without re-tuning..... Matt R
