Noise at cold Start up 2006 EB edition
I believe the tensioners use engine oil pressure to create the tension so the oil passage could be clogged with sludge or something else.- rburch

Code P0401 Problems.
Its fairly simple. there 3 bolts that hold the TB cover on and i believe 4 bolts on the intake elbow. Its easy to drop the bolts down under the intake manifold so be careful! Use some carb cleaner to loosen the carbon and a screwdriver may be needed to loosen the carbon in the egr passages...- rburch

Code P0401 Problems.
OBD-II Trouble Code: P0401 Insufficient EGR Flow You should start off by taking off the throttle body elbow and cleaning it making sure to pay attention to the egr passages. This is a known problem with carbon clogging up those passages. Work from the bottom up on the causes list in the link!- rburch

What did you do to the expy today
Dropped off mine at the shop to get coils changed and a/c compressor replaced. They managed to get my coils covered under warranty because a new guy messed up! :smile: They wouldnt cover the plugs so ill have to save up some money and do it myself!- rburch

Noise at cold Start up 2006 EB edition
When the engine is not running you dont have oil pressure. The start-up noises are usually cause by a filter that doesnt have an anti drain back valve to keep the oil in the engine from draining back into the oil pan. Could also be a cheap filter with a cheap anti drain.- rburch

Loud Ticking/Clacking Noise
The noise will not go away! It only gets worse with age and mileage! Going back to 5w20 will only make the noise louder and more annoying! Use Motorcraft filter and oil or a high quality synth like mobile 1 etc... and DO NOT use a cheap filter! Use Motorcraft or anther brand with synth filter...- rburch
