That is how it actually broke apart, but I did figure out later that it was already cracked because of the scenario I just described. I dont think stepping on it in other positions would break a good part, but I wouldn't want to try it either...
No, it broke because someone beat on the end of the shaft and mushroomed it larger. When I tapped it out, that larger diameter expanded that thin aluminum casting and cracked it. When the wedge block was tightened later, it just broke the whole thing apart.
For those that want to take the gearbox out, open it, clean, and repack with grease. Remember the wedge block is what ties the power board arm to the motor shaft. In order to get the motor out, after removing it's mounting bolts, the wedge block needs to be removed by backing the screw out about...
Based on reading through the actual provided TSB, I'd say no.
Where it blows is not probably not related to how fast it blows. The best way is to bring it to your dealer, get it diagnosed and get a quote to fix it.
Update.
1) The old part number 7C3Z-19E624-C has been replaced by 9L3Z19E624B and no longer requires the rewiring TSB in previous posts.
2) $52 from Tousely Ford
3) TSB's are NEVER paid for by the dealer unless you are within your factory warranty, extended warranty that may have been added...
Do I really have to do do this TSB?
Per the dealer, I ordered part 9L3Z19E624B which is not the number in this TSB, but I thought I'd ask. Did they upgrade the part?
