I've never had issues with them either but I usually blow a lot of the oil out before I install them. I just don't like the idea of oil possibly gumming up my intake tube.
I decided to stay with a standard filter until I can afford that AirRaid filter. I refuse to go oiled filters again... Im so tired of worrying about potential issues with them.
On my 07 you can get to them from the second row. They are on the bottom of the front seats. Easy to see with a flash light. I've got 117k on my Expedition and the filters still looked clean. About 3-4" diameter. Just twist the frame of the filter clockwise or counterclockwise until it pops out...
This might be a stupid question... but have you hit the reset button while the avg mpg is shown on the cluster? If you bought the truck and it is averaging MPG over the last 5000 miles... its not going to change much or very quickly.
The factory ones for the Fords are not plug and play from what I've read in the manuals. I might be wrong on this though. I suggest just getting something aftermarket for less money, better reliability, and more usable range.
20s!
FINALLY got my hands on some decent used 20s with tires from an F150. MUCH better than the factory 17s and they even ride better. I did not swap my TPMS into these wheels/tires. I am going to remove the TPMS from the factory wheels and do the "pipe bomb" method.
For those who don't know...
It is a driveway job as long as you use the right parts and know someone that will program an ADS manufactured transponder bypass. Remote start should'nt take very long. All of the wires are easily accessible.
Sure doesn't feel like it. The one I drove was a pig. Either way OP... go drive them both. I'm confident you'll like the Expedition a million times better than the GM.
So many things have changed over the last 10 years in vehicles, let alone the products that interface with them. For example - Many newer Chryslers and GMs don't even need a remote start module in order to add a remote start. Through the use of databus (CAN or MOST) interfaces, many of the...
Go drive the Chevy and then drive the Expy. You'll wonder why you've never driven a Ford before. 2 worst vehicles I have ever driven in my life were a 2012 Impala and a 2010 Tahoe. I drive ALOT of vehicles for work. I'll talk crap on Chevy and Dodge all day long, but if they do something right...
Too much to say without an actual keyboard. What I will say is that certain someone was/is wrong. I'll come back to this when I can sit in front of a computer.
Yeah but comparing your 97 to an 07 is apples to oranges. They share nothing in common with each other than the name.
I've got almost 120k on mine... I bought it at 104ish and haven't had any problems with it yeT. I dont expect to either. Saw someone saying that they were in the 200s with...
All good systems have rolling code operation now. Biggest reason they did it was because of the code scanner/repeater systems. With a different code every time the system is armed/disarmed, the same code wouldn't be recognized if it were repeated to the system.
It is all very recent! I am going to get my hands on a set of factory 20s or 22s this weekend since my tires are about worn out. Pics will obviously follow!
I replaced this in my 07 with a JL Stealthbox so I don't need this anymore. Seems to be in great condition. I never heard any pops or rattles coming from it.
This is for Gens 2 & 3
$75 plus shipping.
Thanks for sharing. Was hoping it would be a more simple option but even at this point, the parts are probably far more than I'm willing to spend just so I can save 2 seconds of work.
And I believe that the harness in the dash that plugs into the dash button should work as well because that whole button assembly is a circuit board. I tried to take it apart once to see if I could flush-mount my bluetooth mic into the empty slot where the power liftgate button would be.
Sounds like you got the right idea.
Just did my 100k service about 15k late a couple months ago... had the tranny flushed and filter replaced. Flushed the cooling system. My mechanic said the rear ends are filled with a synthetic fluid and don't typically get changed unless there is signs of...
I've had the thought in the back of my head wondering if the harnessing was already there for the factory liftgate since I found a trailer brake harness in the dash of my non-tow package truck.
The company I work for is an Autopage dealer. So I got a really good deal on it. The other reason is that I've had so many of their 933mhz systems in previous vehicles and in my A4 that I've got an abundance of the 1100 series remotes laying around to use between the two vehicles.
I was...
Thanks!
My friend has a GoPro camera that I've been trying to get him to let me borrow for a couple months. I'd like to get a clip at the tip while accelerating and one front either the headrest or the dash for interior noise levels. as a reference, these two videos were shot with the same...
