Here's the kit I used on my truck then, you can see the angled neck at the rear of the tube...

The design has changed dramatically. I put a K&N on my 05 SuperCrew and remembering that install process, you have to take the throttle body off and secure it to a supplied 45 degree angled piece supplied with the kit. Once done it will look like pictured, just a little PITA with that design...
Forgot to mention, no codes either. If I drive it like a normal person everything appears fine and there are no noises. Only getting popping when I think I'm Earnhardt!
Recently, I serviced the K&N and now under hard acceleration at speeds greater than 50-55 I'm getting a popping noise from the intake. Under normal cruising, there is no noise. It seems like when I kick it into the passing gear, that's when it will make the noise. I can also punch it from a...
Sounds like you already have a plan in place. All good things in my opinion and worthy of the cash. My sequence was exhaust(FlowMaster), exhaust again(MagnaFlow, drone too bad with Flow), K&N CAI, finished it off with HyperTech. Mileage returns on our long runs get to 18-19 mpg running 70-72 mph.
Super Clean and Armour All make aerosol spray repellants for the rims after you clean them up real good. Can't speak for their effectiveness, never tried them.
Another possibility...switching the pads over to ceramic when you need a brake job. I did mine a few months ago and have virtually no...
Anyone care to make donations for me? I preparing for a 4000 mi round trip from Tx to Pa in the next 2 weeks for some holiday fun. Can't wait to see what I'll pay for fuel up and down I40 and I81.
Didn't know if this thread should be here or in the 3rd gen area so if it needs to be bumped so be it.
For those of us running the Truxxx spacer lifts or the like, how many of you have installed the new caster/camber keys along with it?
I was told that the alignment couldn't be...
I've been tracking my mileage returns since July using an iPhone app. I have almost 2200 miles logged in mixed use of 80/20 city/highway and I'm at 12 mi/gal. Interestingly enough, the app tells me it costs .30/mi to operate the family hauler.. OUCH! I have a very hard time keeping my foot...
Sorry, late to the party...missing sensation here also. Pulled the MAF sensor out of the K&N intake tube and sprayed it down with CRC Mass Air Flow sensor cleaner. Hesitation gone and full power when kicked down. Must have been some residual oil from my filter burned onto the sensor. $7 fix...
