"Don't try to replace spark plugs!" 2008 Why not?

If you are doing it yourself, get this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00267PZUK You can do it yourself, just take your time. PB blaster the night before and another thing I have heard is to treat the gas with a good quality fuel injector cleaner/decarbonizer prior to the job. For me, too...

    What chip to buy.

Welcome to the HyperTech ranks. I've been saying it on here for awhile, but everyone kept endorsing Edge and Superchips. Glad I'm not on my own anymore. I agree, tranny improvement alone is worth the $, added power is a bonus! Enjoy!!

Buying my first Exp (can someone run a VIN)

Ask selling dealer to look and see if it has the 4 pin and 7 pin trailer connectors on the back. If you have both, more than likely have the HD package.

    New to Ford ownweship..dumb question?

Sounds like a lot of effort. I know what you mean about the boxes/baffles, I didn't like it either. Ripped it off, threw it away and put a full K&N CAI on. But by all means, if you want to mess with the plastic and fiberglass, go for it, sounds like an interesting project. I took the easy...

which 26 inch rims to buy?

Keep what you have, take that budgeted money and use it toward a SUPERCHARGER! Then you can smoke the hell out of the 24's. Otherwise, like the first one.

    What chip to buy.

I don't have that option on mine, but I see on the new unit you can go 25, 50, 75, or 100%. I'd probably start right down the middle at 50% and go from there. When I had my SuperCrew, I used 100% and holy crap, it would squeak the fan belt under HARD acceleration. I backed that one off to 75%.

    What chip to buy.

Not an exact answer to that question. No options for that on the programmer. But I will say I haven't had any issues, so maybe it self adjusts. ???

    What chip to buy.

Install is very easy, it will walk you through it with a couple Y/N button presses, some up/down presses for options and turning of the key in the ignition on/off. Really isn't hard at all. If you have used Superchips, you have the general concept. Updates are free but you need something...

    What chip to buy.

I'm estimating a loss of 2 mpg with the lift, don't really have exact numbers. The loss was really a combination of factors, mainly my right foot. I let her eat whenever I'm behind the wheel. If I would monitor my speed a little better, I'm fairly confident it wouldn't be that bad. When the...

    What chip to buy.

True numbers?? Not exactly. Never really had a base line. Cat back went on before first fill up at the gas station. About 200 mi on the ticker after rolling off the lot, the mods began. Ran with just the exhaust for about 4 months while the Expy was still breaking in, think I was getting...

    What chip to buy.

No love for HyperTech? They claim +35 hp on the 87 tune for your model years. Being that I'm a 2008, I only get +26 hp. Is it a real 'kick in the pants' feel? No. But it definately improves overall drive ability and SLIGHTLY better mpg. I need it more for tire size correction when the...

    20" Tire Replacement

Lots of experience with Nitto, in a variety of sizes but never a 20 inch. Can't say anything bad about them, I keep buying them.

    Power liftgate timing

Have an 08 with the lift gate. Mine will do the series of chimes and then start to close slowly. You make it sound like yours is almost slamming shut. Mine never is making the chimes and closing at the same time and never quickly. Sounds like an issue with the actuator/hydraulics. '11...

Question About The Leveling Kits Available For 3rd Gen Expys

Tires...Nitto 265/70/17. I will be moving up to either a 295/70/17 or a 285/75/17 sometime in the future. STILL WAITING, kids seem to take all of my play money! Ride...I would say pretty darn close to stock. Slightly stiffer than before with a touch more body roll but absolutely nothing that...

Question About The Leveling Kits Available For 3rd Gen Expys

Here's what I was told by 4wheel parts. The Ready lift kit was dropped from them due to unnecessary stress placed on the ball joints. However, they are still more than willing to sell the Truxxx and Daystar kits and install them and stand behind their work. Hence, my decision became rather...

    Running boards

Or take them off, leave them in the garage, lift it with a 3/2, and throw on some 34"-35" rubber. They'd only get in the way anyway. :party36::party36::party36:

    Running boards

The link to the dealership is near and dear to my heart. That's where mine came from back in 2007 when I still lived in Pa. Good guys to deal with. As far as the boards, probably swapped at some point. And the web photos could just be "stock" photos and not the actual truck. Agree with RI...
