    so, this week has been hell! in alaska we get heavy winds..hurricane stage but no names...Tuesday night the winds started along with the rain. winds topped 131mph!!! took down atleast 6-7 trees around my house. we have been without power since 10pm on Tuesday night! running off generator power...

    5W30 or 5W20.........

    if i understand it correctly the 97-98s call for 5w30 and the 99-up call for 5w20. i ran 5w20 in my 98 for about 10k miles, then i switched back to the 5w30 the truck calls for and it had a rattle at start up with the 5w20 that is now gone with the correct weight 5w30 in it.

    only f-150 doors that are the same are the 01-03 super crew (crew cab) front doors. otherwise 97-02 doors are the same.

    personally, i'd take it to a good frame shop. at my work we deal with much worse...send them out and they come back like new.

    far as i know every expy had a 30 gallon tank?! the window sticker clearly shows it for '98 anyhow.

    i dont have a second gen, but i have heard meany times 16-20 maybe alittle more maybe alittle less depending on driving style..ect on a road trip i'd expect 400+ miles on a tank. i know with my older expy i can get 17 pretty easily on road trips.

    my grandparents run blizzaks on there chrysler 300C AWD and f-150 4x4..amazing tires! since i have 3 trucks to buy snow tires with i went alittle cheaper and got studded firestones for the expy and coopers for my excursion and explorer.

    i stay locked in 4x4 high but use A4wd in the fall/spring when the roads have dry patches. bringing this thread up reminds me as i watch the leaves turn yellow outside and the mornings get ever chillier that winter will be here very soon! sorta miss the snow...we'll see if we get the record...

    i went up to chena hot springs outside fairbanks,ak this weekend. i drove my excursion and some family drove my expedition so i had both trucks up there.
