I stand corrected. Given those conditions it does beep- and the displays says "No Key Detected".
Never noticed it. I usually leave the key in car. And I live in the woods with no immediate neighbors. And it's not a very loud beep.
Just don't push the button twice. Once silently locks it. Twice and it beeps to confirm. Really, why is this a big deal? Unless it's different in my '19. I just checked and it doesn't beep when a passenger door is opened as yours does.
That hasn't been my experience with their "floor liners". Did you have the "all weather mats"? The latter is soft and flexible, which might wear fasters that the rigid floor liners. Mine never wore, with lots of heavy use.
Just got my CanvasBacks. My Expy has that weird shelf in the storage area so the CB came in three pieces: the main area over the third row, a small rectangle covering the shelf part, a narrow strip to fill to the lift gate.
I also got the second row captain's chairs with a piece that can bridge...
8 bikes? Use a trailer. Set up a small utility trailer with fork mounts for the adults and whatever works for the kids.
That being said, I ride every day, but it's usually just me. Then I just put it in the back with the sets all down. I have a three bike hitch rack when I need more.
I have the tow package so a low rear end. I'm getting 20 in normal driving. I got 9.something when I towed a 6600 lb Airstream, so that's brought my average down to 18. something.
I don't live in a city and I use eco mode.
I have the Weathertech cargo mat but ordered the Canvasback. I never used the third row in my Durango, but did carry five people from time to time. My Expedition has second row captain's seats so I may need at least one of the third row seats now and again. While the Weathertech will bend, you...
You didn't point that out in the OP. How long ago was that? If a long time, maybe a flat spot on the trailer tire (unless it went away). Or maybe the tongue weight accented a tire issue on the Expy. Your new trailer tires will tell.
I just tried wrapping the fob in tin foil, as aggiegrad05 suggested. Even with the fob in my lap, the dash said "No key detected".
Alcoa to the rescue.
I think maybe they did that so all the setting wouldn't go back to defaults if there was an intermittent loss of the connection. Still, they ought to work it out.
