On the Mercedes MLs I had the fuel filler door locked and unlocked with the door locks. To me that's the best of both worlds. It was only a problem when I got gas in NJ where they don't let you pump yourself.
Have you spoken to the dealer who sold it to you? I would think that is step #1.
#2 would be to escalate it through Ford.
And a calm, reasoned approach will work better than an angry accusatory one.
Maybe it was caused by a bad employee or two and the owner was unaware. I know, long shot...
I tow a 6600lb Airstream(with a Reese Dual Cam hitch) and it tows great as is. I'd double check the set up if it's not towing well.
Techdude99 is happy with his setup, but to me (maybe it's just the photo) the tongue of the trailer looks high as does the front of the Expy. I'd drop the ball...
I have CanvasBack liners. I got a piece that bridges the gap and is held in place by velcro. It's not going to stop a ton of bricks, but works well for must stuff and a well mannered dog.
On various towing and trailer forums (airstreamforums.com for example) There are discussions of both hensley and pro-pride. Users love them (despite being more difficult to hitch up). Others think they work but are overkill. It all depends on your rig and what you're happy with.
I tow a 25' (actually it's 25' 11") Airstream that weighs 6,600lbs loaded. Tows great with my Platinum with HD tow package. While Airstreams tow well because of their aerodynamic shape, I think you'd be fine with a box trailer too.
I left the skylight open a bit one time. The alarm went off. A lady bug had flown in and tripped the motion detector!
I REALLY wish you could set "perimeter" as the default. I travel with our dogs a lot and frequently forget to select it and they trip the alarm. My wife thinks the dogs will get...
Crates when traveling long distances.
For short hops I had Canvasback covers with a panel that bridges the gap between the seat backs. Works for a reasonably trained dog.
