    Radar and Dash Cam Hardwire

To solve the drawing too much current from the wheel heater...us professional installers use a relay to switch the power and a fuse tap on an ignition switched fuse. I personally like to tap into the same circuit that switches the entertainment system so you still get delayed power until the...

    Transmission overheating after service

The ideal temp range for automatic transmission fluid is 175-220. Cooler the better. At 240 the fluid starts to break down and form varnish, seals harden, clutches slip and the tranny is on it's way to being junk.

    Help with 4x4 auto

When my wife drives in or right after a winter storm, I just tell her in put it in 4A....much easier for her and nothing will get screwed up on the truck. I never use 4A as I know when to use and not to use 4H. I would prefer Warn manual locking hubs and a lever 2H N 4H 4L like in my pickups. No...

First Adventure in the Sand - Story and Lessons Learned

Driving on dunes and beaches: Number one is to air down the tires like Trainmaster said. Cape Cod national seashore that is a must do requirement. Signs everywhere and will get you a ticket if you don't. Spinning tires in the sand and sand flying all over the place? That means two things...no...

    Rear End Failure

Haven't emptied the Catch Can yet??? I do mine every 1000-1500 miles in the summer and it's nearly full. 500-600 miles in the winter as it traps moisture too. JLT 3oz can.

    Lower blend door solutions?

This info may help others.... I only done '04 - '06 models changing the blend door motor and it took 30 minutes after the learning curve of 50 minutes on the first one, where the stealership wanted 8 hours...what makes the motors go bad is setting the temp selector either all cold or hot. Set it...

    Complete transmission flush

Thermal valve is there for a reason....the clearances in a modern servo transmission need the oil to be at a certain temp for viscosity and circulation.

    Sloppy steering

Reading most posts....glad I own the lowly XLT....don't have these other modes to play with and get confused. LOL By the way, love the way my '16 handles with the electric power steering. Fun truck to drive.

    Complete transmission flush

For trans oil, Valvoline Maxlife full synthetic is what I run in everything. As others have said, you can change the oil but the lag problem most likely will still be there. Something else going on, if not low oil level.

2020 ford expedition limited max halogen headlights very dim

I don't know....all my vehicles have stock headlights, never had a problem seeing. I will say the '16 Expy's stock halogens are nice and bright and aimed correctly. No complaints there at all.

    Air Filter

Almost every vehicle and engine I own has a K&N air filter. If K&N makes an OEM replacement, then that is what it gets. Paper filters are trash.

Is the parking brake useless in the snow?

Then he will have 4 skis. Bahahaha. The parking brake (which nobody really uses on an automatic) and the transmission park gear did their jobs in this case. He wants to park on an icy driveway hill so.... Simple would be to drive a long anchor rod with an eye at the end in the driveway, run a...

Is the parking brake useless in the snow?

I can't stop laughing long enough to wipe the tears so I can see to type. The questions folks ask on these forums only reinforces the state our country is in.

    catch can benefit

Why? It would be like using a better air filter like a K&N....you are keeping crap out of the intake system with a can. I suppose if you were to let the can fill and send liquid instead of oil vapor into the intake that would be a problem.

    Replace Windshield?

Another issue with non OEM is the tint strip at the top. All my vehicles are clear, Safelite was told on the phone and approved by my insurance for OEM glass on my '06....they installed the aftermarket with the blue tinted top...I was not happy. I had them replace it with the non tinted OEM as...
