When was the 6.2 available to the expedition? I've only seen it and currently have the 5.4. I'm also curious what the real issues are that you've experienced with the echoboost. It's numbers are higher than the 5.4 so it should outperform them. In online video reviews between various...
Don't engage any 4x4 mode on pavement, ever.. Only on dirt, grass, sand, snow or similar surface. The only exception is going from 4x2 to AWD (or back) mode on vehicles that have that option. The hubs are not considered locking hubs so no need to reverse to unlock them. That went the way of...
Here's something you can do as well. There are labs you can send oil samples to that will advise what they see which includes metal content and what actions you should take. Look online, find a lab, follow their instructions. Do the same for oil and coolant as both touch different parts of...
I agree with Scott. You bought what we consider a very high mileage vehicle. Who knows what the previous owner did or didn't do with it. Never buy a high mileage vehicle like that from any manufacturer without preparing to fix a lot of things. Unless you knew the previous owner and knew they...
in my '99 the only issue I had was when I put in 93 thinking I would get better mileage on the highway. If the engine isn't tuned for it, bad idea. I normally filled with 87/89 whichever was available and cheaper. I do the same now with my '11.
Interesting - I have a 2011 and thought I read that you could disconnect the battery to reset it. Definitely let us know.
For what it's worth - I tested putting my transmission in Neutral while coasting to a stoplight - flat surface. The RPMs didn't decrease until I came to a stop. I'm...
I don't know, guys. I had an '84 RX-7 and got it up to about 125 on the speedo. But at around 120 I started to feel the need for a rear spoiler as it started to become a little unstable. It wasn't gradual - as soon as I hit 120 it started. t can't imagine trying to get one of our massive...
I've heard the JL Audio Stealthbox may actually fit in the non-EL version. There may be some modification to the box. In fact, here is a link to a guy who put it in his non-EL Expedition:

My vote is the gen 3 Expedition - preferably the EL. The ride is awesome. Major difference between it and the 1st gen ('99) I had. I would stay away from the '07 and '08 years - maybe early '09 as well. I found a number of reports of 5.4 engine issues that wane in the later years.
It says he got OEM running boards which means he either bought them from the dealer or from a junk yard. I'll go with junk yard as he says he got them cheap. My assumption is both use the same mounting brackets so it should be an easy swap.
One thing you can do is look under your truck and...
Let me preface this to say I have not done this myself. However, it makes sense that you would be told the nerf bars on eBay would not work with the retractible running boards on your truck. The way I read that is you cannot swap the actual "boards" or "bars" with the ones they list as they...
Oooooo bad. Sorry you are being deployed. It may be a little bit of a drive, but if you take it all to Sound Wave Customs in Va Beach near Lynnhaven Mall, they'll do an awesome job installing them. I've been really impressed with their operation and I'm REALLY hard to please. Maybe you can...
Yeah - but that's just it, I can't drive 55! Seriously, if you drive the speed limit on the highway around here, you'll get yourself killed. You have to go with traffic which tends to go 10+ MPH over on the highway.
Hey Joe - I see you live in Virginia as do I. Our state has a limit of 50%. It used to be that inspection stations would enforce it but now the cops have "tint testers" with them and they can pull you if suspect. I believe it's rare, but if that one time they decide to.....I have 50% on my...
That's a great question. My understanding is the glass is thicker all around. Not sure by how much, or if it will fit in a vehicle not specifically designed for it. I can tell you, though, the later models are about as quiet going down the road as I've experience in more exotic vehicles...
There are two things you can look for on your truck. A 7 pin round connector by the hitch. And what looks like a small radiator in front of your regular radiator. It's an aux transmission cooler. If you have both, you probably have the towing package. Check the web page/talk with your...
That looks interesting! But you are only applying it to the front of the hood. I was hoping it could be something you would apply to the entire vehicle. The process is not one I would want to do that with.
He is correct. I thought about getting the factory remote start added to mine so I wouldn't have had to carry a "box" with my keys (get one of the remote keys with the remote start button). When I came across the door open kill engine feature, my mind changed. That's why I went with the...
It is the same. You found it a great price! Really, you only need one remote. You'll notice there is an A and B control near the top of the remote. That's how you set which one you are going to control. The system is nice as two people can watch different movies (for two kids, it's great)...
If you want to spin your tires, go find a gravel or dirt road. As for your engine:
The first character is a zero - 0g626aa is the correct search for what it is. Appears to be a short block 5.4L V8, which makes sense, right?
I have the '11 with Invision headrest DVD system. It came with two remotes. One didn't seem to work well, so I bought one off a guy on ebay. Worked out like a champ. Look up crazypattyfamily - they were great to work with on this.
That is - if the people you bought the truck from won't...
