After looking at that picture, I was going to say, no sub. That's okay though - you are better off getting an after market system anyway. I've only replaced the door speakers so far and the crap I pulled out was amazing to see. I think all the speakers together weighed 1/2 pound.
FYI - you may be able to ask the Ford dealer what the code is. They can look it up through the VIN. A word of caution, though, when I purchased my 2011 used from the dealer, the number they had in their system was incorrect. Not sure if the correct number was imprinted in the area mentioned...
Hey JetSki - there may be some BLIS systems for retrofit that are similar to what we have on our Escape where there is a yellow light in the mirror that signals when a car is in their blind spot - it uses the rear bumper radar system. On the other hand -
The low tech method is to set up the...
I have the 5906 installed. Got it done at a shop. No way I would try to do it myself. Yes, you need the XpressKit module so it will work with you PATS system to allow it to start.
One of the main reasons you want to have a shop install it is they have an electronic programmer to set it up...
Doesn't matter where he works. Any time someone does something "on the side" you have to be prepared for sub-par service no matter how good you think they are. In addition, you don't have the shop to back it up or their insurance.
I understand limited funds and trying to make things work...
Cleaned the crap out of it. Including the jams this time. It's pollen season, so yellow it will be again tomorrow. But at least the road grime is off and it's all nice and clean inside.
My '99 apparently leaked on my COP as well. That was my introduction to COP failures. A co-worker had it happen to her '01. Both of us were on trips when they failed. Nice to know they still haven't figured out a way to keep it from happening in the 3rd gen.
Keep an eye on the COP(s) that...
Go to the ford syncmyride site, register your truck and you'll be able to see if there are any software updates for it. The current version for my '11 is 3.2.2. The '07 has a different head unit so yours might be a different version. You can update it yourself. Doesn't take much to do...
This is funny. But - what little I know of suspensions is this. You have to have something to support the body at rest. Generally it's springs. Be they leaf or coil with some as air like yours currently is. Then you have something to handle the bumps in the road and provide stability...
Worn out battery terminals? That doesn't make sense to me. The battery would wear out before the terminals would. Was it the cables? Did they explain how that could wear out the relay?
Glad you got it fixed. Really strange resolution though.
I had a '96 Bronco. Loved it. Went from a Nissan Pathfinder and drove the OBX. Not even close to the same class. I'll never look back - big truck or bust.
Welcome to the forum! I've had a hard time myself grasping the V6 vs V8 concept and power thereof. I'm on the fence too, BUT I'm leaning in the direction of the V6. Consider this....F1 cars are powered by 1.6 L V6s. They've got some serious power. The numbers speak for themselves - there is...
This - I too hope he has the receipts and can prove that what he bought was for the Expedition. One thing I would recommend is getting the oil tested by a lab. It's very cheap to do and they can tell you the condition and what is wrong with it. You'll need to advise the brand and consistency...
You know - it's rare that I start my truck with they key in the ignition. Even when it's not cold I find I start it while walking up to it. That way, everything is ready by the time I get in and can take off immediately. Nice!!!
A woman I work with had this problem with her '00 or '01 Expy. It turned out to be her key. I'd go that route first. Do you have both keys? Does one work better than the other? If so, then it may be the key(s).
And - once you get done taking care of what you have now, what next? There comes a time when its time to let go. Yes, you may have payments if you haven't saved for a replacement. But in the end, you will be better off with reliability and potentially costing you less in the long run. I...
