    2009 Navigation in 2007?

What's interesting is Pioneer lists the new models as being iDatalink Maestro compatible. It's a 3rd party solution. When you go to their web site, you'll see what they offer and what functionality is available for which radio models. The Pioneer must be really new as they only list Alpine...

Any inputs on what brake controller to buy?

I have the P3 and it works like a champ. Compare the features between the P2/P3 and see which one you might prefer. Can't go wrong with either one. No matter which make/model you go with, the proportional type is what you want. It will adjust to your driving and make it a better experience.

    Time to part ways???

Unless you have some sentimental value that is more important than your wallet, go get another one. With 196K on the wheels, she doesn't owe you anything.

    2009 Navigation in 2007?

Nope. Check it out: Add a new Kenwood stereo, keep your SYNC® system

    2009 Navigation in 2007?

Why would you want to do that anyway? You would be much better off going after market. For one, you'll have better, more up to date, maps. If you have SYNC and are worried about losing functionality, you won't with Kenwood - they have a module to interface with it and I hear Pioneer is coming...

    Remote Starter

This past winter I had a DEI Python alarm/remote start system installed. It's one of the 1 mile / 2 way systems. I love it! Surprisingly, one of the coolest features is the ability for the system to tell you the temperature so you can see if you need to remote start it in advance or not. No...

Help Installing Alarm/Remote Start in 97 Expedition

He doesn't need to do that. Just get VMWare Fusion and install a copy of windows (not XP as it's not going to be supported by Microsoft).

Adding heated and cooled seats to my Eddie Bauer

I'd keep my eyes open at the junk yards. There has to be a 3rd gen with the seats in good condition.

3rd Gen Expy in My Future

I have a 2011 EL XLT Premium and have now had it for a year. I'm real happy with what i have. Couple things that are available that mine doesn't have. One is the retractable running boards. From what I've read in this forum, they tend to be one of the things that breaks and is expensive to...

    2009 Limited EL 4x4 - Engine issues

Interesting. The MPGs - are you getting that from the computer, or have you done your own calculations? What you describe for City is what I get with my '01 EL. I get better HWY though.

    differences between XLT vs EB

I didn't have heated seats in my '99 - they weren't offered then. I'll have to pay attention next time I see an older XLT with cloth seats. My leather drivers seat split the seam on the door side a bit and steering wheel leather was cracked some. But - still better than what I've seen from...

    differences between XLT vs EB

Given the age - the price difference between an XLT and EB is negligible. I would not get an XLT as the EB will always have more features.

No wonder it sounds like crap! -- PIC INSIDE

Yup - it's why you really should replace the factory speakers with a good set of after market speakers. Do some sound treatments while you are at it too.

    Ignition coils...

Woah .the Wankel I had in my RX7 was one of the coolest motors I've ever had. But it sounds like they "fixed" it because I only had one distributor. I miss that car.....

    Weathertech Floor mats

I've got weathertech mats in my 2011 and I can say they are the best mats I've ever had. It's true that there is a spot between the 2nd and 3rd row that's left exposed. I have two young kids and I tend to use the rear doors to get to stuff I have on the roof, like my antenna. So far, for the...

    First Time Exp Owner

Welcome to the club! Overall, your truck looks like it's in great condition. I would address the rust ASAP though. Don't want it getting any worse. The milage, though, is pretty awesome! A year ago, my '99 had between 160K - 170K miles on it and I don' t drive much more than 11K miles/yr.

Just bought an 01 EB and have a couple Q's

When you replace the coils and plugs, be sure to use lots of dielectric grease in the boot. It will help them last longer and keep the water from getting up in there.

    00 Mach front speaker replacments

I have a 3rd gen and recently replaced the factory speakers with Infinity Kappa 60.11cs's. What a difference! You can do the same thing in the '00 and I recommend it. Yes, they are separates, but it allows you to get the highs which are more directional closer to where they need to be - near...

    Preventative maintenance question

Though I agree that I would not worry about the alternator at this point, I'd disagree that it doesn't just die. It can just die as it did to my wife in the '99 we had as she was going through the tunnel. Yes, the battery allowed the truck to run another 1/2 mile, it does die. In the '99, it...

That's incredible! I hope you tell your insurance company how little you drive the truck so they give you a discount for low miles.

    Replace Microsoft?

Well, this is interesting. Looking at Apple's CarPlay page, Ford is listed as a committed partner. Why would they be talking about going with BlackBerry? Maybe to test the market and see how they react? Apple - CarPlay

    need help..burning rubber smell

Leaking oil isn't necessarily a major expense. If the oil is cloudy, however, that's a big deal. It's very concerning that the check engine light doesn't work. If the previous owner disabled it on purpose, I believe that's fraud and you may have a case.
