Though I believe tires are a key component with traction in snow, I don't believe it has a play in the scenario the OP described. It's all in the traction control systems in this scenario. It would appear the ABS isn't tuned to allow for snow conditions and neither is the TCS on the jeep. It...
Congratulations! That one is a beauty. Unbelievable how low the miles are and new it still looks. Out of curiosity, why were they asking $8K for it? Highest I can find is in the $6K from NADA and KBB.
I feel your pain. First one went out on me with my wife, then girlfriend, on the way to a Virginia Tech game. We were going through Charlottesville - UVA country - and my engine light started flashing with motor sounding awful. Saw there was a Ford dealer at the next exit. $350 - $400 later...
Do you have two keys and does one of them work better than the other? Could be the chip in the key is faulty too. I have a friend who's key "wore out" so they are using the other one. Strange.
I don't know, Tony, I have an '89 Jeep Wrangler and was left stuck on the beach when the vacuum connection failed and 4x4 didn't lock the hubs. I'd prefer failing in capable hubs rather than the other way around for that reason.
BD, not sure but what you describe is interesting. If you get a...
I'm trying to figure out what the specs are for the head unit and amplifier installed in my 2011 Expedition XLT EL. I have the factory NAV unit which I have determined to be:
Clarion
BLT1T-18K931-BB
AKA Clarion part # UQW1303
I've google searched to death and keep running in to walls...
That's what I have too.......there is a Ford Flex model vehicle. Funny how you got mixed up with the flex fuel setup!
I looked in all of my documentation (2011 Expedition EL) and saw nothing about limitations other than had to be factory installed. I think Ford messed this one up.
Twood - there is supposed to be a supplemental manual with your vehicle. if you don't see it, you can go to the owners.ford.com website and get it. It's called the Navigation System Supplement. I have the 2011 but don't think they changed anything between the years.
The link I used is...
Well if that isn't interesting. If it's on the sticker, you're supposed to be able to hit the MEDIA button and see the "Rear DVD A" and "Rear DVD B" selection buttons under the "Jukebox" item. In your case, I'd contact Ford and ask them about it.
I have the 2011 XLT EL - no problem seeing the gauges at all at any time. However, the digital display is a different animal - when the sun hits that, forget it. I suppose that since Ford addd the function to turn that part of the display off, they don't think it's that important.
TWood - so you want to play through the FM Modulator. You must use the remote control to do it. The feature is not available by using the buttons on the headrest itself. Make sure you are controlling the DVD player with the disc you want to hear. Check the FM frequency that comes up and...
I too have a Actron CP9580A for my 2011 EL. It does what I need it to. Got it from Advance auto parts when they had a sale. I wasn't looking to make changes to the programming but there are other code scanners that also program for not much more.
From what I have, unfortunately come to find out, none of the DVD entertainment systems are factory installed. They are all dealer installed options.
There is one more thing that I didn't think of earlier, do you have the headrest or overhead system installed? I have the dual headrest...
I have a 2011 Expedition EL with the tow package. Around town, I tend to get 11 to 13 MPG. But, my trips tend to be short. When I mix with highway driving, I get 15 - 16 MPG. However, when I took a trip from Virginia to New Hampshire this past summer, I actually hit between 18/19 MPG. Was...
Do you have the invision headset system? If so, use the remote control to set the FM modulation on and off to see if that does something. It's only on the remote. When set in this mode, do you actually hear something through the radio tuned to the frequency?
I believe the rear zone on/off...
