Worrisome noise under load while towing.

Sometimes at specific RPM’s you can induce a vibration that makes things like a heat shield rattle. If your fluids are all good, no engine codes, etc. ... I would not worry too much about the noise. But that is also why I carry the AAA Plus RV plan for $85 per year. Gives me piece of mind that...

    Tire suggestions

Being that I am located in the northern Rocky Mountains, not sure if my recommendation would apply to Cashiers, NC. However, we just put on a brand new set of 8-ply 20 inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. Went with 8-ply to tow our 9,000 lb. travel trailer. Not sure if they offer this...

Best programmer / tuner & throttle sensitivity booster ?

Looking for first-hand experiences with tuners / programmers & throttle sensitivity boosters for my wife’s 2017 Ford Expedition EL Limited. I have a tuner (Banks Derringer) and a throttle sensitivity booster (Banks PedalMonster) on my lifted 2019 Duramax, and the performance improvement from...

    BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 - 275/55R20 - Installed Today

Ride quality is totally dependent on air pressure ... I run 45 psi when not towing ... they are a slight bit stiffer riding ... but honestly ... hardly noticeable. But our Expedition is the wife’s car that I sometimes drive on the weekends. So this is coming from someone that drives a 1-ton...

    Rear Sway bar?

The Hellwig rear sway bar on my truck has 3 different holes that the end links can be connected to. The hole closest to the main crossbar is the highest resistance (stiffness) setting and the hole farthest from the crossbar is least amount of resistance. But even the lowest setting on the...

Hellwig Sway Bars - Front and Rear - Performance Review

I had the Expedition's alignment checked when they put the new tires on last week. The factory alignment was off (I know for sure my timid wife did not hit anything), but their printer was down to print me the before & after, will post this printout if / when I receive it later this week...

    Rear Sway bar?

As an engineer myself, I understand there is a give and take. They should simply design the sway bar to be adjustable so those who want less sway, but are willing to give up some ride comfort, can make that decision ... without purchasing aftermarket parts to adjust the sway bar stiffness.

    BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 - 275/55R20 - Installed Today

Finally made the decision to upgrade the stock 275/55R20 tires on our 2017 Ford Expedition EL Limited to tow our heavy travel trailer (8,500 to 9,000 lbs fully loaded). Was hoping to increase the load capacity of our tires to at least a “C” rating (6 ply) ... preferably an “E” rating (10-ply)...

Hellwig Sway Bars - Front and Rear - Performance Review

The more aggressive you drive, especially in the corners, the more you notice the excessive sway control issues. My wife is a fairly non-aggressive driver (compared to me), however, she does not always slow down enough for the stock sway control in the corners. This is evident in the...

    Rear Sway bar?

Just installed Hellwig front and rear sway bars last weekend on our 2017 EL Limited. Made a huge difference on leaning when cornering ... and the side-to-side sway issue when going thru approaches.

Help, will new Expy w/HD tow 287Qbs safely?

Our 2017 Ford Expedition EL Limited (heavy duty trailering package comes standard) pulls a Keystone Cougar 29BHSWE. 34.5 feet long (front hitch ball connection to tail end of trailer) 9,000 lbs loaded (7,000 lbs empty) Items that I installed to do this safely: 1. Weight distribution...

Hellwig Sway Bars - Front and Rear - Performance Review

Removed the front & rear stock sway bars yesterday and installed a set of Hellwig’s aftermarket sway bars. This easy install sway bar modification significantly improved the handling of our Expedition EL Limited. Before this modification I truly hated driving our Expedition because it cornered...

    2016 EL Limited 4x4 Tire Fitment ?

Increased tire diameters commonly fit without rubbing if within +3% of the stock tire diameter. Any tires wider than stock sizes may not fit within the fenders and wheel well arches without rubbing. However, in some cases it may be possible to fit a slightly wider tire without rubbing if the...

Hello from Salt Lake City, UT ...

Hello everyone. My wife has a 2017 Ford Expedition EL Limited 4x4 that she bought new as a leftover in 2018 ... still only has 17,000 miles on it today. I been so busy over the last few years building my truck (2019 Chevy Duramax 3500HD w/ diff drop lift kit & 35’s), our UTV (2017 Polaris...
