    Never had that happen to me. Is the movement along the plane of the worm gears (fore and aft)? If so, I would check the integrity of the worm gear mounting. Like I said, never seen this so I have no idea how all that crap under the seat works.

    To be honest, that 3k recommendation was from the oil companies....who were selling the oil. Admittedly, back in the 60's and 70s the engines were brutal on oil, and 3k was probably correct. Today, not so much. The engines are better, the oil (additives) are better, fuel is better, filters...

    Post the code numbers, please. Are you saying the front wheels do not respond at all to steering wheel inputs? You mention cold starts. Is there a different behavior with a warm start? Since you have electric steering, this could be as simple as a blown fuse. Have you checked for that?

    Thats called "re-flowing". After the solder turns to a liquid, hold the iron on the contact for ~10 seconds to allow the board and the component lead to heat up further. This will help to prevent a cold solder joint, which fails pretty quickly after a few thermal cycles.

    Can't speak for other than a '17, but if you're rolling, the text "text" is blocked. You can only hear it while driving. Same thing as searching for an address in NAV. The function is disabled until you come to a stop.
