1999 Expedition 5.4
Want to do the delete but have a few questions. Delete rear cats or all four?
What do I do with the O2 sensors?
After the delete I'm installing a Magnaflow chambered muffler (SS) with the pipe exiting out the rear. Anyone have some adevice?
Good God Almighty! That's some awful scary noise! I couldn't find my noise, bought a stethoscope and found it to be the alternator, bought a brand new one for $147 and am going to replace it this weekend........
Ran into another problem, called Magnaflow and they said I have 4 cats. I told them I only have 2. Just 2, goes like this, exhaust manifold, O2 sensor, cat, O2 sensor, muffler. This set up is factory. Why do I only have 2 cats when everyone says I should have 4?
Well, I came home and discovered a strange whining noise coming from my engine, pretty loud too. Thought it might be the power steering pump so I cranked the wheel in both directions with no change in sound. Tried reving the engine, no change in sound with the increased RPM. The whining is...
Going to convert my 1999 Expedition with the 5.4L to true dual exhaust. Planing on two new Magnaflow cats and two Magnaflow mufflers, has anyone done research on the optimum set up for this truck? If so, what is the perfect setup? I want what is best for my Expedition not just what sounds good...
Sorry, but those are your clutch packs in the rear-end. Has the gear oil been changed? If so, did you add the friction modifier? Have you checked the gear oil level?
About 8 months ago my SES light came on, so I hooked up my trusty scanner and it told me it was a bad O2 sensor or a bad cat. Well, I replaced all 4 O2 sensors as they were factory originals ( what a PITA ) low and behold, SES was still on. Decided it was now a cat problem. ( going to wait until...
I know that the ABS light was off, came on, added brake fluid ( leak at left front caliper ) my question is, how do I reset the ABS light? Can I do it myself or do I need to take it to a shop?
My ABS light came on, found out I was low on fluid, topped it off, light still on, disconnected the battery, still on. Do I need a to have a shop clear it?
My SES went off, checked the code, showed a bad cat. I replaced all 4 O2 sensors hoping that would fix it, but no. My question is, will my mileage drop with a bad cat? I went from 14 mpg to 12........
Don't even think about getting water anywhere near that engine! I've gone through two sets of coils because I wanted a "pretty" engine compartment, now I let that pig wallow in dirt. Water bad.
Every once in a while I find a nice set of wheels for sale, but what will fit my 1999 Expy? They only mention Dodge or other carmaker in their ads. So if Dodge wheels fit..........,
