    From a Google search...... confirming as posted by 99WhiteC5Coupe above: "If the check engine light happened to be flashing during these episodes of acceleration, that means there is a serious fault, such as cylinder misfiring, that requires immediate repair."

    Your post symptoms may indicate a faulty starter/solenoid. An auto-electric shop could test the starter/solenoid before you replace parts.

    If a Costco member, that is the best source for a battery. They only carry interstate. Most batteries were made by Johnson Controls (now Brookfield Business Partners.). I think you will find that most "gold" series batteries are quite similar in CCA regardless of the brand. Costco does not...

    Google search: If the speed sensor fails the cruise control may stop working. ... A vehicle's cruise control may stop working if the vacuum actuator has stopped working or if there is damage to the vacuum hoses. The system may also fail if the cable linking the actuator to the throttle is broken.

    K-STOP? DO YOU MEAN K-SEAL? If the leak persists, borrow (free) a pressure tool from most auto stores to pressurize the radiator to locate your leak. Remove rad cap, and install tool. Simple.

    May be your BIL should be informed that rust is a preservative (see Bunky - post #8 above) and add 95% more rust (?).
