    if it is 2wd it does not have torsion bars. yes, they made 2wd expd after 99 most of them here in FL are 2wd.

    5.4l Head gaskets?

    I would say valve cover gaskets also. IF the head gaskets were leaking they leak to the rear on the rt head tnd the front of the left head. This was most common on 99 5.4s rt side head not to common on other years or engines.

    2001 Expedition coil issue

    I work on drivability on ford v8s all the time and you can not predict when the coils will fail-new or old. I have had coils only last 2 miles and others have 300k miles on them so if they are not broke dont fix them. I would just carry a small code reader and 2 extra coils and you should be fine.
