Being a 'geezer', in age, I think the windshields of yester-year did not nick as much as the newer ones? Maybe they did shatter, which is not good, but they didn't seem to nick or chip as easily??? I have had 'big' vehicles and 'smaller' vehicles these last few decades and the windshields on...
I think I need to clarify my situation. I don't really have a 'chip'. I have a 'nick'. What I have, I guess, are cosmetic? The stone, or whatever, left 3 'nicks' on the windshield. They are not deep; just can be felt (and seen). All the 'repairs' I see on the internet and at windshield repair...
I've seen a few posts that indicate 'they' were using "other' than 5w30? The Ford specs indicate the 5w30 which is what I even use in my 2010 Ranger XLT 4x4. In a previous vehicle I was using a 0-20 which was a gas saving blend??? Should I/We be sticking to the 5w30 or is the other 'numbers' a...
Well....it happened.....my vehicle is only 2 months old and I've got a stone nick in the windshield. And yes the fingernail test indicates that it can be felt. Which means I guess cannot be rubbed out? I've read on the 'internet' that what I have cannot be fixed? I've had 'stars' in previous...
I just did the 2.3 update with some hesitation. It was not until today that I saw this thread about it....wished I had seen this first. But......even tho the install did not go the way it was described at the web site it seems to be OK? One does not need to have the engine running during the...
Just a couple of months ago I drove from north Georgia to central Florida. I got, according to the computer, around 20mpg's. I guess I was lucky? on the return trip is was a tad lower.
I did a search to see if anything had been discussed/posted....came back with nothing ..... so will ask.
I know the oil change frequency FROM FORD seems to indicate an oil change and filter every 10K miles. I'm from the 'old school' and even with FULL SYNTHETIC I changed it every 5K-7.5K...
?? OK, I am not fully understanding 'how' to deploy the running boards.
1. Do you open the door to get boards deployed...first?
2. Then....go somewhere in my 'menu' choices to disable them from retracting??
or how..............
The 'tech' showed me where the leak was caused. He still contends that it was a factory error and that is why the "seal" dried out and cracked......I guess from sitting waiting for me to buy the vehicle. The 'seal' is where the pump (gosh pump is small!) is pushed into the tank. The pump must...
Just wondering.
Is there a 'cover' one can buy to cover the hitch? I don't mean those covers that go on the hitch; I'm asking about something that goes on the bumper.
I have the WeatherTech item. I drove from north Georgia to Mid-Florida; 12 hour trip. The deflector worked fine. I have washed the vehicle since to get the road trip grime and bugs and the deflector was fine. Drove interstate speeds....... so I have no regrets having the WeatherTech brand.
oooops, NOT FREE Shipping. What I meant or should have said I did not pay for the 'quicker' shipping which would have been even more money than the $20 they charged. Even at the $79 total cost(including shipping cost) the price was better than many others. There was one other brand at a lower...
I ordered the WeatherTech one. It arrived in 3 days (free shipping) yesterday. I put it on today (saturday). It took me 10 minutes. Holes a perfect match up??? Not quite but with a slight 'tug' here and there it went on. I leave for a 10 hour trip next week so will see how well the thing works...
I got this response/reply from WEATHERTECH. This is definitely making me 'lean' towards getting a WeatherTech product.
Thank you for your interest in WeatherTech. The Stone & Bug Deflector with part number 50170 for your 2017 Ford Expedition come with screws, fasteners and a bracket to install...
Well...........
Some folks are very happy with their 'shield' and some folks ask 'why?'.
I've read some reviews at the places one can buy one and I see mixed reviews there too. Most seem to indicate that bugs ain't going to be stopped all that much....unless they're small bugs. BIG BUGS still...
Not sure I'm calling it correct. This vehicle being larger than what I had prior I'm noticing a lot of bug 'splats' on windshield. Do the 'bug deflectors' one installs on the front of vehicle work?
I guess the only reason, for me, to buy one would be deter anyone from sticking something in and plugging the gas pipe. I've read that some folks had to have someone 'unplug' their gas entry because a 'thief' tried to siphon but their hose or whatever got stuck/broken and thus caused...
Admittedly the last 'new' vehicle I bought was in 2013 (not a Ford). It and all my previous vehicles(no Fords) had gas caps. A surprise to me was that my 2017 Expedition Limited does not have a gas cap; it just has a 'seal' on the 'door' to the gas? I guess this is something Ford has done for...
I am the unfortunate 'schmuck' who started the Windshield Washer Fluid episode that got several people kinda uptight.....including myself.
The final outcome to this ordeal is that the 'icon' indicating low fluid kept coming on. So after doing some investigating and looking all around the area...
Well, I guess I have been put in my place. I am a 'newbie' to being a Ford owner and totally not familiar to some of things about them. I may show some frustration in not knowing what or how is going on but am a tad taken aback by some finding it necessary to belittle me. But I guess there...
