    Increased oil consumption while towing?

    I didn't notice any additional oil consumption when I tow. I think 3 quarts low is a lot. You should check your oil every 500 to 1000 miles and fill it back up when necessary. Towing with low oil is never a good thing. I would also check to make sure your not leaking oil from somewhere...

    I'm not familiar with Michelin 10 ply tires inflated to 80 lbs but I would think they are going to ride very very hard. The expo doesn't have a soft ride to begin with. I would make sure to get more info and try the tires if possible before buying. Your wife's rump could get awfully sore and...

    I would check the rocker panels and radiator core support for rust. These parts are prone to rust. Also check the hood and deck for lifting paint. That being said if it check out mechanically you may want to buy it. They are good vehicles.

    Your lucky you didn't get a few speeding tickets. 83 mph for 300 miles is amazing. In the northeast you probably couldn't get 20 miles without being pulled over. Are Texans lucky or the cops just don't care about speed?

    I've read that you can get away with not replacing the radiator support until the fan starts hitting the back of the radiator. Any opinions? Has anyone tried using home made brackets to support the radiator of an expedition?

    I would follow Chrisolfdoc advice. Fix obvious leaks,etc but I wouldn't put money into repairing the engine. It will get very expensive. How many miles is it driven before you add the oil?
