    an oil extractor will never get as much residue out of the bottom of the pan as will draining from the drain plug will. And its real important to get out as much of that as possible on every oil change.

    I think mine uses Method 2, I would have to check One of them is "trans temp" not "trans fluid temp" that one is the one that is close the coolant temp. I thought that might be the temp of the trans itself but I dont really know. That is the one I tried using originally Method 1 was just not...

    could be a bad compressor. Try rotating the compressor hub by hand (engine off of course) and see if you feel any resistance. If not probably a bad compressor. But really hard to say for sure over the internet

    I will give you the same advice I gave the op test your oil pressure you can rent a gauge from a parts store if you don't want to buy one or have it done by someone who knows what they are doing

    because oil pressure is building up and making up for the excessive clearance in the rod or crank bearings and quieting the rattle. And yes bottom end knock can go away after startup if its just starting to go bad, Very common I used to see it all the time on motors going bad when I worked on...

    the only way to know is with a proper engine oil pressure test did they do one? could very well be the lower end
