It's all good dude I made my living as an auto mechanic for 20 years even though some on this board claim I don't know what I am talking about I just ignore them and try to help out when I can
You need to know if the trans temp is in the OBDII data stream to be able to read it. It is for my '08. I had to add custom Ford PIDs to Torque Pro (the program I use) I am not sure about yours
It could read 100 depending if the vehicle was recently running, if its hot under the hood or its hot outside lots of variables
My point is if its reading 10psi for instance then he knows its low on 134a and that has to be addressed before anything else
that's all I am saying
that's all you need. Screw it on and see what it reads. Hi side is only used for diagnostic purposes
unless you mean the gauge is built into the can? I have seen those but I have never used one. Probably should still work but I am not sure. I have one that built into the low side hose for...
you want a big front end try on a 1976 Olds Toronado. one of my first cars
it had front wheel drive, no trans hump in the floor
It was like driving a living room
If you use the chassis for ground make sure that the connection for your meter to ground is good.
Touch the positive lead of the meter to B+ to make sure otherwise you may be chasing your tail using a bad ground for the meter
it could still be what John is suggesting
while the engine is running and the AC is on try lightly tapping on the clutch face with a hammer or something similar, if it engages then you have too much clearance between the friction surfaces of the clutch discs
very common
driving will never go away. but as time goes on less and less will be sold and with the imports leading the way in sedans the market will just keep slowly shrinking. Ford is just trying to look into the future and taking a gamble to survive in the long run
besides , thought we were supposed to...
yeah I know. I am in the industry Ford is in my backyard. I worked there for 13 years. I hear about this stuff all the time.
I think they are crazy too. My kid is an engineer there. They are all worried about their jobs.
Our generation isn't going to be buying them anyway. They probably wont...
the main reason they are doing this is they are putting all (most anyway) their eggs in the autonomous vehicle/mass transportation effort
they are going to be cutting a LOT of existing jobs in the process while adding some new ones in other places
I would verify that it is actually running hot
When its cold, start it and let it warm up and monitor the temp by touching the upper radiator hose.
Cou8ld be nothing it wrong and you have a bad temp sensor
of course using a handheld thermometer of some kind would be the best way but it...
you dont have to take the grill off completley
take the shroud off that covers the top of the radiator and then remove the fasteners for the top of the grill then just tip to top of it forward. There is enough room in there to work.
I stuck a piece of wood in there to hold it open so I could...
I just have mine mounted temporarily on my dash. They say mount it as low as you can since the fuzz aim the radar gun at the headlights or the license plate and its more likely the detector will pick up the signal mounted as low as possible on the dash
I only use it on long trips otherwise it...
