The coolant crossover gasket was the culprit when I experienced a similar leak. I purchased both gaskets but the driver's side was the problem and only required removal of the thermostat and alternator for access. It appeared that intake removal was needed for the passenger's side so I decided...
How handy are you with a multimeter? I do not have the circuit diagram for your climate controls but there are very knowledgeable members in this forum. I suspect your power and ground connections need to be verified in a logical manner to isolate the precise cause of your issue. There are...
I am consistently seeing TPMS PN 6F2Z-1A189-A and PN 7L1Z-1A189-A for you VIN and RockAuto provides the additional note "Exc. 433 MHZ; Exc. Accessory" for the latter. I imagine it's relevant if your current sensors are using 433 MHZ and you're not changing the complete set. Hopefully someone...
I am partial to OEM but since that hasn't worked out for you I can only suggest that you stay away Monroe Quick-Struts. I haven't come across a set that's lasted more than a couple of months on NYC roads. It's not worth the hassle of getting them warrantied and your vehicle realigned. I'm sure...
Here's the PAS side replaced. The middle mounting bracket (circled) was broken so I used JB Weld Plastics Putty to reattach after a failed attempt with JB Weld Plastic Epoxy. Yes, it's painted black because it would bug the heck out of me even if I never see it again. The unsecured end fits...
There are 3 rubber "air deflectors" on my 2013. The bottom one is referenced in the initial post and a pic of the one installed on my vehicle will follow below. There are 2 additional rubber deflectors that clip to either side of the radiator bracket and to the top of the header panel assembly...
Reusing the factory springs may have made all the difference in your experience with those Monroe shocks. I cannot recommend their Quick-Strut assemblies.
Avoid Monroe Quick-Strut replacements in my opinion. I used them on a Jeep Commander and the front deteriorated within 6 months (I'm being kind with that estimate). They were replaced under warranty and the experience wasn't any better.
I proactively replaced front and rear on the Expy using...
That's exactly what I'm noticing. The seat cushion and backrest heat up noticeably (tested this morning) but the cooling function only seems to affect the bottom.
What year, and can you actually feel the backrest cooling? I hear those fans blowing but the backrest isn't benefiting much...
Wallyworld periodically, and currently, has the 5-quart synthetic on sale for about $23. I've also found the 820S filter there for about $4 more often than not. For those interested, there is also an active $20-$24 Mobil 1 rebate offer for up to 10 quarts from participating retailers. Final...
I was reluctant to post this question but I'll defer to the experts. Does climate controlled seats pertain solely to the seat cushion or does it include the seat back? The 2013 manual simply states that more lights indicate a higher setting. It was too darn hot to test the heated seats today...
I haven't worked on one of these sealed transmissions before but it looks like the procedure isn't much different. The service manual states that the transmission temp should be about 100°C when checking fluid level. I'll have to check if my OBDII can read that. The process shouldn't be too...
I'm glad you asked. I called to inquire about the cost of transmission fluid replacement and was asked for my current mileage. I was promptly informed that the dealership would not perform that service until the recommended 150K miles based on the maintenance schedule. I then asked to speak...
The 150K miles maintenance schedule calls for transmission fluid and filter, front axle fluid (4WD), rear axle fluid, transfer case fluid, and drive belt(s). I'm not there yet but have seen too many instances where the first fluid flush at a high mileage intervals coincidentally leads to...
Perhaps that is why there is no drain plug, and it makes sense. I don't know how the previous owner used the vehicle so for that reason I thought it couldn't hurt to change it. The rear fluid was in surprisingly good condition for 100K+ miles and I'm pretty certain it was never changed. Only...
Great post! I decided to proactively drain and fill transfer case along with front and rear differentials and got stuck here. My wheels were grounded and I had no success with a narrow tube. Is there a method to spinning the wheels to provide the clearance needed to get the tube deep enough...
I purchased a set of Monroe Quick-Struts for a Jeep Commander and had to warranty them within a year. That set degraded just as quick as the first. The ride is great for first couple of weeks but comfort and ride control drop off very quickly. I'm in NY, but even that doesn't justify the...
I've used the Monroe Quick-Struts on a different vehicle and cannot recommend them. They ride well for 2 to 3 months on average roads and deteriorate quickly thereafter. If you hit any "significant" potholes or dips you're done!
Monroe honors their warranty and exchanging them wasn't an...
