Before you change any parts out you should post which codes you're getting. An oxygen sensor code is commonly caused by something upstream of it not working right.
They can and do fail, and I like to change them out every 100k miles. However in my experience the oxygen sensor is finding the...
I wonder if your torque converter is engaging/disengaging properly? Might see if it acts different in tow/haul or throw it in neutral and brake it, maybe hold it in a lower gear and feel it there also.
If any of this makes a difference in symptoms it might help find the issue.
If a caliper...
I doubt you would have much trouble going to a narrower wheel, but the backspacing and offset could definitely affect the fit.
You can Google how to measure them, compare the two sets and you'll have a better idea.
Do you feel anything in the steering wheel or brake pedal?
Do you have a pull to one side when braking?
Things like a worn control arm bushing can deform under braking load and change your steering geometry, causing weird stuff to happen.
The female sockets that your fuses plug into should be tight fitting. It's possible you are disturbing a poor fuse connection.
You can cut an old fuse in half and just plug in a single blade to feel how the individual contacts are mating. I've found a couple times that one loose blade can be a...
Not to hijack the thread, but any filter that flows more is letting larger stuff through.
It's physics.
Air filters and cold air intakes have great marketing teams.
With advances in engineering, radiators focus more now on surface area than core depth. Proper fan, shroud, and air dams will definitely help also. External transmission and oil coolers help as well.
As you add core depth, the downstream rows only get progressively hotter air coming across them...
If tinkering around with the coil wiring changed your symptoms, carefully check your connections, particularly the female contacts that might have gotten sloppy.
I've had a bad fuel pressure sensor before that was a real pain. Replaced it with a new (but also bad) sensor. Finally hooked up a mechanical gauge and verified it against live data, data showed 40 psi but mechanical gauge showed 10. Slow idle and stumble were among my symptoms.
Why did you replace one of your camshaft position sensors? Passenger side?
You may be having oil pressure/timing issues. It's common for timing issues to throw a camshaft position (CPS) code.
Oil gets warmed up, phaser or tensioners start leaking oil pressure, and when rpm drops so does oil...
Don't drill anything. Don't cut any wires.
My 2012 idles about 600-700 rpm depending on temp, a/c, etc..
As long as it doesn't stumble off idle, get hot idling, or lose oil pressure while idling I wouldn't think there's a problem.
I just sold my giant cammed 429 that needed 1 000 rpm @ idle...
I've got a lot to learn about these things, but I think that if valvetrain timing got that far out (far enough for your symptoms) you would get a DTC code, CPS error, bank retarded, etc..
I'm wondering how/if it would run in open loop? I'm not sure what condition you could set to cause that...
Possibilities-
Someone was fighting an overheating issue and was trying to avoid radiator, fan, or water pump replacement.
Previous owner thought it would run better if it ran cooler, like the Quadrajet days.
Used car lot "fixed" it for pennies instead of actually fixing it.
Someone hated...
Not sure on your year model, some years have multiple sensors combined into one.
You can also view your live data as you wiggle components and wiring, see if any readings act weird.
Your upstream O2's are probably setting a code because your fuel trims are bouncing around. Something else is...
I've seen multiple threads about specific Expedition/F150 parts interchange. Front suspension, mirrors, etc. Nowhere do I see a full list.
Does anyone have a full list of interchangeable parts for 3rd generation? Thanks.
Chock the wheels, set the parking brake. Unhook your shift linkage at the transmission end.
Try to move the gear selector on the transmission, try to move column shifter next. This should help find your culprit but I'm guessing something in the column isn't happy. Maybe problem with a previous...
A stereo shop might shed some light on your remote control issues.
Before you pull any spark plugs, clean out the area around the plugs. Compressed air works well.. an inspection mirror helps too..
If you drain the coolant,, it's possible to get an air bubble in the motor.. Use a vacuum fill...
If you had to stab a fully assembled engine into the engine bay you would be lucky not to break any of the plastic stuff on top. You would also have a ton of fun reaching some of the stuff in back. It's usually just block and heads, intake goes on later as stated above.
Lucky for you that's...
Yes, catalytic converters can be replaced. You can choose factory or aftermarket parts. A local muffler shop or mechanic shop can do the replacement for you.
To be honest it's kind of a crap-shoot without the actual DTC codes.
O2 sensor codes can be the result of a bad sensor but can also be the result of a different component having problems and forcing the O2 sensor to give a wacky reading.
Any time things don't make sense, verify everything...
