    AirborneJordans Family Adventure rig.

Which housings are those? I've gone through a few of the non-projector aftermarket housings and they all seem to fail within a year or two. Most will leak moisture within a few weeks and the few that don't will get hazy and the clearcoat will peel within a few months.

    2007 Exp 275,500 mile repor

I have 294k on my '07. Repairs are starting to accumulate, but overall it' still cheaper than a new one.

    Detailed, Love it BUT

FordTechMakuloco mentions a rear end clunk that is caused by the retaining bracket of the differential pumpkin getting worn. I bet your noise is caused by this.

    Updating my sloppy suspension

I replaced all of my stock shocks with 4600's about 18 months ago. It took me the better part of a weekend and I needed to rent 2 sets of spring compressors. I also needed to upgrade my (weak) impact gun with a better unit and a set of larger sockets, which took a few hours of driving around to...

    Where is it leaking?

My '07 EL leaks at the power steering pump, but it's slow enough that I just top the reservoir off every few months with an ounce or two of fluid. It looks like yours could be similar. I don't have the buildup around the balancer area like you do, however. I'd get a couple of cans of engine...

2014 Limited 5.4l. ( Which Coolant do you guys trust)?

I use Ford VC-13 Yellow coolant (replacement for the orange OEM fill).

    Shuddering hesitation

The shuddering on slight acceleration could also be the IWE's losing enough vacuum to engage (poorly). You have AWD, so this might apply to you. Secondly, the shuddering could be a misfire, but those usually come with a flashing (or steady) check engine light.

“Premature” Control Arm Failure with 3/2 ReadyLift?

I have a full set of the Mevotech Tough Terrain uppers and lowers in the mail via RockAuto. I’ll install them in a week or two. The alignment shop told me that the upper ball joints were toast and the lower arms were unadjustable at the bushing.

    5.4l Coolant Manifold crossover leak

If you are replacing the tensioner pulley, you might want to consider the other idler pulleys, too. I think Gates makes a master kit will all of the individual pulleys and the tensioner, plus a belt. This fixed a lot of my belt noises, although it looks like my alternator bearings are making...

Should AC air out of vents be colder?

In my '07, I can drop down the glove box and see the evaporator box. I drilled a small hole in the box and I sometimes use an instant-read thermometer to see what the evaporator box air is reading or use a boroscope to see if the evaporator is icing over or covered in crud. I also use this hole...

Should AC air out of vents be colder?

Your vent temperatures seem high. I routinely see vent temperatures in the 40's while highway driving, ambient weather is about 90'F with humidity in the 70s/80s (Oklahoma summer). Yet your pressures seem reasonable, although perhaps the low pressure is a bit high, but not by much. This could be...

    A/C Problems

My 2007 had poor AC performance until I discovered that the temperature sensor inside the evaporator box was reading low. It would cause the compressor to shut off, thinking that the evaporator had reached freezing temperatures. It's located behind the glove box. I placed a 330k (IIRC) resistor...

    P0307 #7 misfire

As Trainmaster said, you may want to check the connector for the COP. The rubber o-rings on mine were falling apart, which prevented them from making a good connection to the COP. I replaced all 8 of mine and haven't had an issue since then with misfires. You moved the COPs around and the issue...

    problem with roller follower removal

Each of the intake valves will have the tool oriented one way, while the exhaust valves will require the tool to come from the other side. Note that you do not need to remove the cam to replace the phasers. I followed the steps by FordTechMakuloco and had no major issues. I will also recommend...

    P0304, Misfire

I had a handful of misfires on my '07 and the pigtail for the COP was bad. The rubber ring around the plug had fallen apart and was preventing the connector from fully seating. I ordered a set of 8 from amazon and replaced all of them, using water-tight, self-soldering butt connectors...

    Intermittent rough idle

Here is the complete set from a Ford dealership in the US: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08L5FH7PG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You will also need a set of valve cover gaskets (these fit my '07, but the design is different for other model years)...

    2015 Transmission Failure

As others have said, and I hate to offer no real solution, but these transmissions are generally very sound. I picked up my '07 in April 2017 when the odometer had 218,000 miles on it. The shifting was poor, so I sent in a sample to Blackstone when I changed the fluid and filter. The report...

Correct ALLA LED Reverse and Tail lights for 2021 FX4 XLT?

I'm in the process of replacing all of my ALLA's (white reverse, white brake/blinker, amber turn signal) on my '07. After having them for a year, I've had to replace about half of them due to the wire on the blade terminal falling off. ALLA replaced 2 of them under warranty, but I'm done with...

Help w/ Wrench light among other issues

It should be pretty straightforward to remove/loosen the harness by disconnecting each injector and COP connector. I think there will also be a couple of connections for the radio noise capacitors(?) and maybe the throttlebody connections. If you go to YouTube and check out FordTechmakuloco's...

C1095 error. Replace the pump side, electric side, or whole pump?

I can almost guarantee that the brake issue is related to the rubber brake lines getting old and failing. I had intermittent issues with my brakes (front passenger, then front driver) that went away after replacing the rubber brake lines. They took all of 30 minutes to replace after spending too...

C1095 error. Replace the pump side, electric side, or whole pump?

So far, so good. I’ve had zero issues over the past year. Did you reprogram the as-built data? Do you have a way to monitor reported wheel speed like ForScan? Did you replace the hydraulic and electric portions of the pump? I finally bought the flare nut wrenches, BTW.

Another 5.4L tapping noise thread (sorry)

I don’t think that anyone has mentioned the common exhaust manifold leak on the passenger side. It would make a ticking noise upon startup that often goes away or gets much quieter as the engine warms up and the gasket/leak seals itself temporarily. I had a pretty significant ticking noise and I...

    Gravel feel when accelerating

This is probably the IWE's engaging partially under low-vacuum conditions. I had the exact same issue in my '07 and I discovered that my vacuum line running across the front crossmember had a hole worn in it. I fixed the line and everything got better.

    Bad ABS module

I've done this twice on my '07. I bought a used ABS module (electronic end and hydraulic end) from LKQ. The first module went bad in a couple of months and LKQ sent me a new one for free. The replacement job isn't terrible. In my '07, you remove the air filter assembly and driver's front tire...

fan speed low while AC is running?

Does anyone know of a way to look at the PCM inputs/outputs as they relate to the mechanical fan clutch on the '07 Expy's? I have ForScan, if that matters. I have poor AC performance when at idle. The AC works great at highway speeds, and my gauges tell me that my charge is fine. I suspected...
