I just changed the fuel filter on my 08 expedition, it's an external fuel filter with one inlet and 2 outlets. The 2 outlet connections where very easy, but the inlet connector has a metal bracket on it, it was just hanging loose on the old filter, I assumed it was suppose to secure the inlet...
If you have LED bulbs in the rear brake/indicators the car should have been flashing quickly from the start. As it doesn’t that would indicate that you or someone else added resistive loads (when fitting the led bulbs) to prevent the hyper flashing. As it is now hyper flashing, I would be...
Really getting confused, many people seem to explain that this error is due to an actuator that is down near the floor above the transmission hump and is a bear to get to, but I watched a couple of videos for the same error and they show that it's really easy to get to, you just remove the...
Hi everyone, I just purchased an ODB2 reader and found that my car has 3 errors reported, no check engine light is on.
1) the first is an error about connection to the mobile phone unit (it's not fitted so I think that explains the error!!).
2) the second error is that the drivers side rear view...
Or an inline radio antenna connector. Does it have a wire or rubber tube going into the other end? A few more pictures from different angles might help identify it.
The wall that I clipped opened it up!! The avtual mirror has to be removed first, it is clipped to a ball mount on the back, so it takes some careful pulling to get it to unclip. Then there are 2 wires connected to the mirror (for the heating function). Once I had the mirror out I think I could...
I think the single #906 bulb is an error and refers to the bulb in the puddle light (the light that shines on the floor from the mirror when you open the door). I broke one of my mirrors and had to replace it, so I opened up the old mirror to see what was inside and try to save some parts for...
Interesting, I had no idea you could buy the unit with the LED lights and the orange transparent window. I still can’t see how you get that unit out of the mirror to put the new one in, but it’s still useful to know that it is available.
They are a row of LEDs that are glued inside the mirror, not a bulb that can be changed. If both sides have failed I would suspect a wiring or electrical issue, the LEDs usually last a very long time.
Love my max, I am 6’2” tall and can sleep in the back without my feet and head hitting the door and front seats, when I have to move wood or sheet rock a 4’x8’ sheet will fit in the back and I can close the tail gate. We have 2 Newfoundland dogs and can use all 3 seat rows and bring the dogs...
On my 2008 expedition, the chrome finish, was actually a white plastic wheel hub that had been sprayed with a thin chrome plating and the plastic hub was then glued to the wheel. The wheel was a steel wheel not aluminium, I tried applying heat to remove the plastic hub as the chrome had all...
Jixxerjasen, that’s a nice looking expedition, I believe we have spoken occasionally on two wheeled Texans web site also!! Do you still participate on TWT?
Just to be clear, radar detectors are legal in most USA states, laser jammers are illegal in most states. Virginia and a couple of states do not allow possession or use of detectors.
As stated the 65 side Wall is the standard size, if your tyres don’t foul on the bodywork, then you are fine, just be aware that your speedometer will read too slow you will be doing 80 and it will show 70 or 75mph unless you fit a speedo healer, so keep an eye out for the boys in blue!! your...
The swollen lug nuts are the chrome plated nuts, basically the metal underneath the chrome corrodes and creates an oxide, which is contained underneath the chrome, so you can’t see the corrosion, but the chrome gets pushed away from the surface of the nut by the corrosion, and when you try to...

I use a small mag mount dual band (144 & 420Mhz) on the roof, I opened the rear side window and passed tha cable through the window (at the front near the hinge) that was 10 years ago and have never had a leak, I like that it meant no holes had to be drilled in the car, I then passed the cable...
My 08 came with 20" wheels stock, they are fitted with 275/55R20 tyres on all 4 wheels. seems to give a good ride, I pull a Bumper RV a lot so went with higher weight rated tyres, but that has no effect on the tyre size, just stiffer sidewalls.
Those wheels look like they came from an F150, so...
I ended up going with Mister Glass, they seemed to do a good job, but my insurance insisted that I had a $100 deductible even for glass, am with Allstate. The original windscreen was 18 years old and full of chips and marks, the new one, seems much clearer!! Hopefully there are no leaks..
They also suggest that the throttle valve be fully open when running the compression test to ensure the maximum amount of air is entering the cylinder, in the old days of carburetors that meant having someone press the accelerator pedal to the floor whilst you cranked the engine (with all spark...
Thanks, I have comprehensive insurance (with Allstate) and a $200 deductible, so will get the insurance to pay for a part of it. Was thinking of trying safe lite but that was just based on all the adverts I see, no idea if their work is a good quality or do they install the cheapest windshield...
I have an 08 limited EL that has a few chips in the windscreen, just got another but it is massive and I doubt it can be repaired, so I probably need a new windscreen. I wanted to ask if there is anything I should be looking out for or companies that are recommended or should be avoided? I live...
