Simply not true. Our 2020 roof vents in the 2nd and 3rd rows push heat out, not just cool air. The rear climate controls too have a button to direct air to the top only, which in the case of heating, would include warm air.
What the tech is probably doing is poorly describing/understanding...
Has anyone figured out a way to make the rear window and mirror defrost stay on longer? It seems to stay on for maybe 15 minutes, then it turns itself off. Up here in the frozen north, that's just not long enough. I'll look back and the window is frosted up again.
Is there a Forscan setting...
I have the service manual, so when I find time I'm going to pop that section out and have a look at the springs underneath. Need to be careful though because the emergency key dock is under the front cup holder.
Here's the procedure to put the Expedition into Neutral when there's a no-start condition.
Edit: Just re-read that your engine won't turn over. Tow guy should have dollys for the rear wheels.
The Platinum trim second row has airbags built into the actual seatbelt - the chest portion. It's likely they can't be extended whilst ensuring the airbag would explode open in the right position and potentially causing injury to the occupant.
Not the updated part number. The old ones, yes. The old ones were recalled because under certain conditions the teeth would strip off.
The new wiper arms have a single fixed positioning spline/lug. They can only slot into the receiver in a single position. They can not be adjusted by...
My passenger side power running board is a pain in the ass. It seizes up from grime and dirt. Now it's seizing up due to the cold. This current cold snap (-45c / -49f) has seen it freeze in the open position. The drivers side however never skips a beat.
This is the video I used on YouTube...
Does anyone else's cup holders rattle only when there's a coffee cup, bottle etc in them? Some gentle downwards pressure on the object stops the rattle, but it starts again as soon as I let go. It appears to be the spring loaded fingers that hold the object still. I think.
Anyone found a...
I had the recall done on our 2020 Expedition last summer. This winter I noticed that after the recall work, the wipers sit higher up on the windshield than before.
The result is that the wipers are now 1 - 2 inches above the heated wiper park tracks in the windshield. With the arctic temps...
I have the Ford ones, and then the WeatherTech ones over the top (for the trunk) for winter.
And also the WeatherTech ones for the front footwells, and the H shape single piece mat for both the 2nd and 3rd rows.
The trunk one is ok - just slides in over the top of the Ford one. Holds water...
The Platinum comes with cameras all around, and thus 360 camera views. Has anyone heard of a way to tap into these to make use of them as dashcam/parking footage?
I ask because there's a procedure to put the vehicle into neutral with the engine off, but it's for 4 wheel down / flat-towing.
It sounds like for your use it would be overkill, but I'm not sure what OP wants to acheive.
Chrome... :puke: I'll never understand the obsession with that shiny crap. Driving around looking like a christmas tree ornament.
I want all the chrome off my Platinum. If they sold the Platinum with the Stealth package from the lower trim model I would have added that option in a heartbeat.
Something I haven't tried yet, but is worth a look.
What happens if you pair the RES to your phone bluetooth, then connect the phone to CarPlay. Does it still play the BT audio through CarPlay via your phone instead?
Platinum w/ CCD, running 20x9 winters, on Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 winters.
Rides smooth and comfortable - moreso than the stock 22s. And the rubber is awesome. Surefooted down to -35c (-31f), solid on highway iced over roads, ploughed through waist deep snow like it was nothing.
Same here - use it all the time. However, with the tow hitch, the sensor is on both sides... it even states so in the manual. You can kick at either veritcal join line of the hitch cover and it'll open. On the 2020 anyway.
I do get the occasional accidental activation, mostly when I'm...
