Question: For those who have taken apart/replaced the stock airbox, does it only breathe through the snorkel hose opening at the front edge of the hood only, or does it also draw fresh air from another source (like the fender well or headlight areas)?
Thank you,
E-Dave
You mean like the factory fuel tank?
I appreciate your concern, but can't help but think a well secured fuel tank protected by the bumper and trailer hitch would be more of a danger than Jerry cans attached to the bumper/roof of the vehicle.
That being said, most people fill and use these...
I have several jerry cans, but prefer the security, safety and discretion an underbody tank provides.
I am looking into other options now. If anyone has any info, please add it here. Thank you--
TITAN: No Spare-Tire Well X-Range Aux Fuel Tank Available, and none in the near future.
This is disappointing, b/c I can't help but wonder if any of the models they might already have made, would fit with just some metal being removed...
Was not a fan of the whole "cut another hole in the...
Thank you Loki. I too have noticed only the slightest of gains in fuel mileage with 93, as to be better served with running proper PSI in the tires IMHO/YMMV I am not a lawyer/cop/surgeon but play one on TV. Again, w/o a doubt 93 makes the truck much more snappier, but at $10 more per fill-up...
Thanks Lou! Personally, I think it is a bit of "false advertising" unless it does deliver 375/470, and a bit more with higher octane.
Hmmm... thought they would have learned from the Cobra fiasco lol :buttkick:
The 3.5 runs great on 87, or even less at elevation. The engine is smart that when it detects knock, it pulls timing (power) to keep things all nice-nice.
There IS A BONEFIDE advantage in power when running premium though. This smart engine bumps timing a bit if higher octanes are detected...
1. Go to the dealership for the once-over ASAP. Buying used, you really don't know what to expect--ever. What I would want to do is document the issues, especially if they look it over and say "it's fine" and then it happens again, or worse. I have gone time/time again with issues, especially...
FYSA, when people say "tow-tunes", they don't mean to tow above max payload capacity/weight.
It is a tune set up to boost low-mid range, alter transmission torque management, adjust timing/boost etc. All to make your towing experience much more enjoyable, with less downshifting, and sweating...
While I don't have personal proof of damage, I would never run a mismatched spare for any distance, unless "I had to."
And by had to, life and limb were at stake, the tire could not be plugged or patched (even temporarily), and there were no flat bed/AAA services in sight. Even a minor...
Foz, I am bumping up 2 tire sizes to 34.3s, raising her up in height, and adding additional bolt on weight.
So, depending on my ultimate future plans may want to match--or even lower slightly, my final drive and crawl ratio.
It depends on the $$$ cost for the swap as well.
Are we talking ring and pinion here? I was asking about gears?
Q= Is anyone making front and rear gears for the 4rth Gen Expedition--higher than 3.73s such as 4.11s, 4.56s, etc.
I also imagine, a 3 inch lift w/o the rear Expy shocks maxed out (1.5 inch) in back will look very strange.
I am not even 100% sure with the Bilstein 5100 3 inch / 1.5 inch combo they are truly level or slightly "nose high" at rest?
YMMV
Holding Hatch/Window Open Safely at Low Speed?
Helping out with a parade, so thought I would check the Hive's mind regarding this. I have a few ideas, but figured someone here might have a ready made solution that was strong, and did not bend/break things.
Goofy clamps, removing it, and...
