Yeah, any surface area perpendicular to travel kills ya.
Right from the manual:
Note: Make sure to take into consideration trailer frontal area. Do not exceed 36.5 feet² (3.39 meters²) if your vehicle is equipped with the standard towing package, or 60 feet² (5.57 meters²) if your vehicle is...
This is about the same for me, w/eco mode, all highway and ACC active (with frequent driver input to account for the idiotic behavior of it at times). Similar speeds and a few highway trips east or west on the PA turnpike between Bucks County and Pittsburgh.
Really happy with this vehicle...
Out west, 91 is usually the highest octane I could get, until you hit the coastal states. It has been my experience that running even that is considerably worse towing/performance wise with the eco boost (and also the "foot dyno"). Trip to FL from PA and back is the best mileage I've got towing...
I've pulled a 7K TT for about 10K miles at this point... Only had 85 octane available in eastern MT and got 5.5 mpg that tank. Usually 9.5 would be the highest if I had 93/94 octane in the tank and no headwinds.
It will do much better mileage at lower speeds. I could probably light foot it to...
I believe you will have a much harsher ride if you go with the 22in wheels. Someone will come along and correct me if I'm wrong, but, stock 22s = CCD suspension, basically because it is a requirement with that small of a sidewall.
I wouldn't go past 18s of it were me. I'd also consider some...
@bushpilot, Nice rig! I'll be PA registered, so, it's required for me regardless of what I'm pulling it with. Do you pull anything else with it, like part of the state of TX? Never even saw a Haulmark coach before aside from the nicer box trailers around here. Looked them up and those and...
+1 on parking away from everyone else. I actually put the running boards out if I have to park where everyone is packed in tight... I also have 4 kids, my wife and myself that will, most certainly, have the wind take the door out of our hands. It's already happened to us in my driveway where...
No issues at all here aside from a cracked tail light. No idea how it happened... Discovered it after cleaning winter grime off w/hose beginning of winter.
~$1100USD part w/housing, LEDs, wires all in one deal, etc!
$100 insurance damage deductible for that one, thankfully.
Happy Camper so far...
Yeah, I just picked this product and stuck with it from original purchase. I think regardless of what you use, that is the key to keeping a vehicle looking good. Hasn't actually been my experience that it washes off quickly/attracts dust. I've used a lot of other stuff and for me this works best...
Is this stuff Sticky? What I'm reading it makes me think yes and will be a dust/dirt magnet? I'm still covering all my weather seals (sunroof included) in TopCoat F11. Seems like that is a good way to keep them clean/supple/functional, etc. Or are you putting this on some other bits up there?
I only use the app (mine also takes a bit, probably 15 seconds or so for start or lock/unlock) if I want to start and keep the truck running for more than 10 mins...
99% of the time I use the fob for remote start. Fob in pocket to lock/unlock doors and keypad if I'm walking away from it and...
What? Lincoln doesn't have physical buttons for 4x4 and steering heat? WTF? I'm thinking of what buttons I actually press routinely and I'm thinking these two might be in the top 5 in a temperature map of what I use most on the expy as the miles accumulate...
I really want to drive the HO motor...
Agreed! I'd think any 4x4 with a low range transfer case should have this capability...
@bushpilot, I know I'm resurrecting an older thread here, but, did you ever come up with a solution for a 4th gen? I think I found some stuff that would possibly work, but interested in any real world...
I'd love to drive an expedition max with the helwigs to feel the difference/gauge if the upgrade is worth it. Would you still do both or just the rear of you had to do it again?
I don't think I drive that hard, but have noticed "motion" in this beast. [emoji23]
Nice write up, @Deadman, thank you...
Yep, what @dlcorbett said, if it's a special edition, it's got ccd. I couldn't open that sticker on tapatalk. Unless you can get a leftover 2020 how you want it, ford x plan pricing would be the best you could get from what I've read on here for a 2021 now. I didn't have that possibility myself...
Have you checked out the special edition, stealth and king ranch trim packages? You get ccd with SE and Stealth, not sure about king ranch.
My SE was about 1K less on sticker and purchase price was ~67500. I could get about that deal everywhere at the time. Had to drive to Cincinnati to get...
