    Wheel spacers? Anyone using them???

Assuming a properly designed spacer, what would the difference be between a wheel with a smaller offset, and an OEM with a spacer?

    Expedition - Impressed (tow capacity)

6klbs without a weight distribution hitch? I would say you could run into a problem. There are various guides/rules of thumb/old wives tales regarding when one is required, but if your trailer weights as much as the tow vehicle, then you are into the probably in region of a WDH requirement (boat...

    Gas filler door

Mine sticks out a little at the leading edge. It’s only really noticeable after the car was washed and dried, due to the slightly different reflections. It is plastic, as noted above, and has a very slight ‘set’ to it.

Largest tires that will fit stock FX4

There are a few threads on tire sizes, but don’t directly answer the question due to additional factors, such as lift, change in wheels, etc. the wheel size is 18x8.5 with a +44mm offset. For reference, the 20s are same width with same offset. The 22s are 9.5 with same offset. one of the...

    Full automatic braking?

Good question. I suspect it’s more a traffic thing (rear ending a car, etc.). This feature is not something to rely on, of course, and would think the system is designed to avoid false positives.

    Lock/Unlock gone from FordPass?

Ditto. Without an update, either. As noted, an annoying glitch.

19 - xlt should i buy (fx4 and or tow pkg)

4 low isn't really needed except for extreme circumstances; if you are going to be in one of those circumstances, you'd already know you will need the 4L gearing. Towing: are you going to be doing a lot of towing? the gearing and upgraded radiator will help a lot, even below the 6000lb non-tow...

    Lock/Unlock gone from FordPass?

iOS 12.4.3 (iPhone 6), Upgraded to FordPass 2.20 and lost the lock/unlock icons. (edit: actually, restarting the app, I see the icons for a split second, then they vanish). (edit 2: Now the remote start button went away! Oh, now it's back...definitely a bit flakey)

Biggest tires on 22" with stock suspension

What size tires are those? Are they 22 rims or 20s? (Not that it looks like the latter matters). Also, I. Not sure how a lift would help with the control arm clearance: am I mistaken?

    LED Bulb replacement

Bottom line, try a different manufacturer/design of LED bulbs. Generally, you get what you pay for - it costs money to design a high output LED to fit a halogen reflector. Not only that, reflectors are different from vehicle to vehicle, so an LED in one may not be ideal for another. Personally...

    Weathertech maintenance

Might try it, myself. Never had much luck, but then it was a snowy, salty dirty Michigan winter, so couldn't keep up with the cleaning. It's not a bad price, if it's no better than just washing, then haven't lost a lot.

    Husky Floor Liners vs. WeatherTech

Just purchased Husky, after using Weathertech in the old vehicle. Husky was a bit more expensive. I like them, and probably apart from the differences noted in this thread, I don't think you can go wrong with either ones.

    Weathertech maintenance

If you are in an area where you really need them (snow, slush, dirt, etc) then there’s not much you can do to make them look new. After all, they are designed to protect the carpeting, so something has got to give. Regular washing with soap and water: take them out and wash them the same time...

    Auto headlights

Oh, ‘nother thing to add about the auto lights: they will go off when you drop below around 25mph, and back on at around 35mph.

    Auto headlights

Mine respond very quickly after the car is passed, and don’t have issues with reflections from signs. It does respond to house or barn lights if they are bright, but on the whole is quite quick. I do keep the screen quite clean, though (but then, I’m less than 500 miles...)

    4A vs 4L driving modes

I missed that note about mud/sand setting. It does sound placating for those who think it isn’t like a true 4H mode, but it probably does work just as well. Probably best to try it, before you actually need it :)

    4A vs 4L driving modes

I was personally a bit concerned about not having a direct 4H and 4L. For example, driving across grass, you could put it in 4H even though you don’t necessarily need it, but it reduced the likelihood of slipping and tearing up the grass. however, even though I’ve only got a few hundred miles...

    2019 Expedition XLT price

Also chiming in, here. Just purchased an XLT Max for 54k (plus tax) no dealer or doc fees. It was 65k list. as for 3rd row seating: I came from an 09 suburban. The smaller wheel base really isn’t designed for a 3rd row. The Suburban/Yukon XL is fairly decent...until you get in the expedition...

    Rented Max Limited

When I first drove a vehicle with all those features, I kinda felt the same, until I knew what they were and what was going on. Now I like them. Yes, there’s a lot of gizmos in the new vehicles, but most can be adjusted or turned off. Personally, what I thought I’d turn off, I actually have kept on.
