Let's See Those Lifted / Big Tire Gen 4s!!

From stock 285/45R22 to 275/70R18 ends up with only a 3.4% difference in circumference. Considering that most speedos are a little optimistic from the factory, it's not that bad. On our Christmas trip it only seemed to be 1-2mph difference compared to my Garmin gps. Wasn't worth worrying...

Let's See Those Lifted / Big Tire Gen 4s!!

No problem, turned out really well. Those look like the wheels I was after at first until I saw the Tremor wheels on @YogiTheBear Expy, and I knew the color would match well on mine so I put your wheels as #2 and went hunting.

    Limited 2wd leveling kit

Did you spin the tops on the front ones? IIRC, the readylift has instructions to show you how to do it, need a spring compressor. ReadyLift 3/2: 69-2831 https://www.readylift.com/media/installation-pdfs/69-2831-IM-AA.pdf

Let's See Those Lifted / Big Tire Gen 4s!!

18's for me for both reasons. Stockish wheels are easy to find in that size and so are tires, so there's that too.

    Passenger DRL not fully on

I just had this occur as well. NHTSA complaint filed, you should too. https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAyc67BhDSARIsAM95QzvRlD_7MoyNdCSIWIGC9e0EW91E8v7lw5go68ii6uA_E9ETEdxd0EoaAk37EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds#vehicle

2018 expedition headlight assembly ballast replacement

This might be worth while. Lots of folks it seems with this issue. Add me to the list as of this week. Noticed the reflection in a store window while waiting on my wife to come out. I submitted my complaint...

To go with 18” or 20” wheels on 23 Limited Max

Interesting, I can't imagine how a powder coated surface is as smooth/flat as a machined surface, but will be interested to see your results.

To go with 18” or 20” wheels on 23 Limited Max

I'm not a fan of spacers, don't like what they do to the geometry, didn't want my wheels sticking out and flinging more rocks and stuff on my paint. The extra threads on the axle are unnecessary and it was easy and cheap to shorten them. I also wasn't going to store my stock wheels and sold...

“Transmission Not in Park” message when shifting into gear

Take it to your dealer and have them pull the error codes. One of the issues when I had my transmission rebuilt was a bunch of park errors that they had in there. I bet yours is full of them too.

Farewell to the board - thanks to all for your help

Best deal ever was to purchase a TRD spec'd Sequoia in 2019 and then sell it in 2022 for exactly what you paid for it. Freaking COVID. I know, I was shopping then. Sigh. Thank goodness the same thing didn't happen with Expeditions. ;)

Farewell to the board - thanks to all for your help

The Sequoia will be rock solid dependable, but will feel like a 1970's station wagon in comparison. I had my heart set on one of that generation Sequoia and when I went to test drive it, I also tested the Expedition back to back. I'd seen the reviews about how it felt old but had decided I...

What the heck, I replaced a part and bricked the Expedition

If it's like the one I did on my old 80 series Land Cruiser, it's not a difficult task. Kit from Amazon got it fixed right up.

    removing CCD

IIRC, Icon was working on a delete for our SUV's. Supposedly they came up with one for the F150 but I haven't seen one for the Expedition. I think someone tried it with the Expedition and it worked for the most part except for an annoying message on the dash. If it were as easy as a resistor...

To go with 18” or 20” wheels on 23 Limited Max

If it's not Expedition specific, then you are gonna have to cut. It's really no big deal and pretty easy and you get to put on what you want. My wheels had a few bits of curb rash from the previous owner, but considering I got brand new wheels for $1200, getting a grand for my old ones went a...

To go with 18” or 20” wheels on 23 Limited Max

Sold them locally with the tires on them for I think $1000 advertised on Facebook. Took a bit of patience and dealing with the "Are these still available?" messages and the never ending haggling, but eventually a guy bought them to put on his F150. They were in 9/10 condition so he was very...

    2022 RWD in Snow/Winter Weather

The problem with running dedicated snow tires, that I can see, is the weather, at least where I lived in Cleveland(Parma). It was all flat and it'd snow a ton and be deep and cold for several days. They'd plow and salt the roads of course, and then the temps would pop back up to the 50's for a...

    2022 RWD in Snow/Winter Weather

I moved from Dallas to Cleveland some years ago. Moved right back after a year, but it wasn't because of the driving in the snow. My wife had an FWD Honda CRV and she'd lived in Texas all her life, so I was determined to get her the best all season tires as possible at the time. That thing...

    Inlet/Outlet Hose Replacement

Curious, for those saying it's super easy, does that include the hoses to the rear heater? We established early on that those were difficult to replace, but was that incorrect and it's easier than previously indicated? This actually makes a lot of sense.

    Inlet/Outlet Hose Replacement

Should have been easy enough to look up the recall online. Also, just for reference, check the user "HazBeen" on here. Roof rails, upgrade from OEM

I laugh at this all the time. When I had my $7K Isuzu Pickup Truck, no way I'd run my baby through a car wash. Hand wash only. Now, with a vehicle that has an MSRP of 10X that, yup, all the time. Too hot in Texas to get out and do it for almost 6 months of the year, so it sits dirty. Plus...

    Roof rails, upgrade from OEM

And hampering you in an automatic car wash. I had a chat with the manager of our local one right after they built it. Turns out they were turning off the top rollers if you had a roof rack of any kind. He'd been trained that way at a previous car wash he worked at and carried it on to this...
