I Magnacharged my ‘05 5.4 3v 13 years ago, with no change to the internals. It’s still running strong today with no significant failures. Though it was an F150. Currently, I too am looking for a blower kit for my ‘03 5.4 2v, but no turn-key kits appear to be available.
I’ve used Colobond leather paint / dye recently, with amazing results. I’ve had great success with several vehicles over the years, and Colorbond offers factory matching colors.
I recently replaced the OEM faded headlights on my 03. Got cheap-o aftermarket from some web site. You get what you pay for. The light beam was junk.
Found an OEM replacement off-road package from Ford Parts Giant. Ordered both sides. Only one showed up. Apparently it was the last one on the...
You can Google "jack assembly" for your year. Any number of Ford sites will pop up. Find your OEM part number, then go hunting on the interwebs. That's the process I used for all the jack components soups-to-nuts for my 2003. Don't make this harder than it is. Good luck.
257,500 on the 03 EB. New (re-man'd) AER engine installed at 250,000 miles. Been through every write-up on the truck since I took possession last summer. A few minor details still working through. Mechanically, nearly perfect. Cosmetically, great shape. If I can just convince my wife that...
I did grab a hand held vacuum pump, kind of like the Mighty Vac. That’s how I tested the hot water valve vacuum line, which yielded zero vacuum indication. I’ll have to see how I can make the connection to the actual valve to test that functionality.
The lines going through the grommet at the...
Checked the vacuum at the vacuum line: zero. I blew on the line as well, and that did not hold pressure either. The heater hose aft of the hot water valve does get hot. Looks like I'm taking out the center console. Thanks for all of your input and help Mike!
Pete
I'll check the vacuum at the line today and report back, as well as test the valve. Any idea how much vacuum I should be reading from the line? How much vacuum should actuate the valve? The rear heat blows warm enough I suppose. I'll also confirm the heater line aft of the valve gets warm /...
Interesting discussion and response, Mike. With the first time I've had my EB in colder weather, I'm questioning the effectiveness of my HVAC / heating system. I did try to test the hot water valve as you outlined above, but it basically did nothing. It never moved throughout the test...
AER was the remanufacturer I went with - they’re the same company that supplies long-blocks for all Ford dealerships. They were very easy to work with and even waived the core charge if I got it back to them within 30 days. The long-block 5.4 2v came with heads, timing chains and cover...
Good catch - I did take a quick look at it. Seems like a nice blower, but if Allen is not around anymore, could be challenging to find the rest of the components. It was a scavenger hunt enough to find all the pieces and parts (Motorcraft hoses, vacuum lines, etc) when I swapped out the long...
Come to think of it, it seems like I’ve read posts over the years of a failed rear wiper motor smoking batteries. I could be recalling incorrectly, but worth a search.
Could be a bad battery - get a load tester or AutoZone or the like can test it for you. Otherwise, bad ground is suspect.
Wiper motor fuse - Relay #1. It’s in your owners manual, page 251.
Got word back from Procharger, and no dice. I could Frankenstein a kit from them, but I’m looking for something a little more turn-key (or at least application specific).
After installing a new re-man’d 5.4 2v in my ‘03 EB, I’ve put about 5k miles on her working out any more write-ups. I went with JBA headers, eventually replaced both cats, and while I was there just threw on a Magnaflow muffler and rolled stainless tip. I’ve kind of fallen in love all over...
I've got the factory navigation unit installed in my 2003 Eddie Bauer. I'd like to install a back-up camera, that displays on the nav unit. Has anyone done this successfully? I stopped by a local stereo shop, and they simply wanted to sell me a new head unit that would make back-up camera...

Straight out of my 2003 EB Owners Manual:
"Readiness for Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) testing
In some localities, it may be a legal requirement to pass an I/M test of
the on-board diagnostics system. If your “Check Engine/Service Engine
Soon” light is on, refer to the description in the...
