So, according to the dealer service department they recently attended training where they were told that 90% of all drivers fall under the “SEVERE” driving conditions and that they use the suggested routine maintenance intervals for severe driving.
Only 10% fall under normal driving conditions...
Dropped my 2016 off today for the Works 65k miles. Oil and filter, tire rotation, inspection, and wash at the Ford Dealer.
They called and said everything looked good but Ford now suggests that spark plugs and Transfer Case fluid be swapped out at 60k miles would I like them to do it...
Unless you get a killer deal on junkyard pull seats having someone install Katzkin leather will actually give you a better quality leather than factory and they can add heat. Will be cheaper than swapping.
After posting I went out and listened while waiting for the wife.
If you are standing directly in front of the truck one can’t hear it over the fan, move to the passenger side you can slightly hear it from about 3 feet away, on the drivers side one needs to bend down near the tire to hear it.
Do you happen to have the .gpx files so I can load them into Gaia???
If you feel like wandering north a bit the Kentucky Adventure Tour (KAT) is very well mapped.
The .gpx file can be downloaded here
http://annessky.net/kat/
Gaia’s premium membership has access to tons of maps.
Here is a link...
I highly doubt it. Seems a lot wider when I pulled the spare.
Just drop the spare see if it will fit. You could possibly shave each side of the bracket at the end of the tether so it will fit.
I know the 1st generation Raptors spare wheel is the same as the normal wheel just black. Might be able...
Correct. Ring 2 which equates to 0.79” on the F150. Spot on 2” of lift for me. I was concerned ring 3 would be more than 3” and I did not want to tear it apart for a third time so I erred on the side of caution.
I wanted 2” not 3” I like a touch of rake and did not want it leveled.
The 3k mike oil change interval for the most part went out the window many years ago.
So We’ll have to agree to disagree.
Yes turbos get hot and start stop is a terrible idea anyway you look at it but under normal driving conditions these two things nor is anything else breaking down a synthetic...
If you are under standard driving conditions and doing a 5k or less interval you will add no longevity to a motor by going synthetic over a synthetic blend. Your protection is just as good. So yes you are wasting money.
Never used a synthetic oil except in Toyota’s where it is required. Yes...
How often do you change your oil???
If you are not doing extended oil changes full synthetic is a waste of money for standard driving. I change at 5k and use Motorcraft Synthetic blend.
You don't want to go by his numbers being that you are a 2016. We have different spring rates than the 2018s hence the reason the 5100s for the Expedition are the same part number but give different lift possibilities for 15-17s compared to 18-19s.
I went to the regular old alignment shop and...
I don't believe the front differential utilizes a limited slip differential so there is no need for the Friction Modifier.
I was going to say get the transfer case fluid from your Ford dealer. I think it was like $15 a quart here.
But in some more reading I found something interesting...
I have a 2016 and my owners manual calls for 75w85 front and rear. Assume the 17 would be the same but one never knows with Ford.
I used Amsoil 75w90 Severe gear oil took just under 2 quarts before weeping out the fill hole.
Also used 4oz of Motorcraft Friction Modifier.
Also only use...
Why? Vehicles are ridiculously priced anyway why add unnecessary cost? A spare is just that a spare. Meant for temporary use what would the point of having an expensive rim and spare spare tire be aside from adding more cost.
On your typical road driven vehicle.
17” to 18” rim makes ZERO...
They are a bit grooved especially for the rears but I have seen way worse.
Pull them pay $20 to have them turned slap them back on.
If Your problem is still there you have other issues but you now have fresh rotors.
Make sure to sand the rust of the hub face and the front crown of the rotor...
If that is what you bought I am sure it will be fine. Amsoil is a solid product all around. I use the Severe Gear in the black bottle with red cap.
It is formulated for towing, heavy trucks, high performance, and cold temperatures.
I used it many moons ago in my Explorer and it was noticeably...
Then go to you local junk yard.
18” Ford 6 lug steel wheels are a dime a dozen.
Go on FB Market place you can find one with a tire for $50 or less.
Rim size does not matter. Similar overall diameter is what matters.
