Yep........10.5 hrs at shop rate plus replacement of guides and solenoids. Just make sure the replacement cam phasers are the new and improved. One might add the thermostat.....new and improved part. That's all I can add.
IDK regarding the engine cover. It seems to me much older vehicle back in the day used the cover or air cleaner for air intake into the carbs and also used the air of the exhaust manifold to warm the choke before electronic choke pull-offs. My thought on this now going to newer vehicles it...
As been stated before on this Forum..............Motorcraft shocks are poorly made. Bilstein shocks are much better and probably will be be your go to shock after your frustration of dealing with Motorcrafts failure. Ironically Ford said a little seepage was fine until after warranty. They would...
One has to keep in mind, this is on a truck platform. My upgrade to Bilsteins was inacted to research and this website. I had 38k on my vehicle with a leaking profusely front shock. (factory) Could not see replacing that failured part with another OEM part. I never seen a failed shock leak so...
I disagree...........replaced front and rear shocks with Bilstein's and replaced both sway bars with Hellwig products and it made a big difference to the ride quality. 2019 XLT 40K. 20 " tires. The sway effect in the rear is diminished considerably. My experience and my opinion only.
If you don't plan on ownership after 3 years or 36k don't buy it. If long term investment, your choice. These have a lot of electronics and moving parts in them and very expensive after years use. That is the question you should contemplate. Nothing is without failure at some point in time.
You probably could enter that in a data entry in your Ford Pass with dates. I don't believe Carfax would enter any data to Ford Pass. Like I said enter those repairs on service files that may work for you. Welcome aboard. Very useful site and good people here.
I agree with you on this repair for Navigators only. The components would be the same on Expedition models. Ford has deemed to make those models ( Navigator ) special for appeasement. Ridiculous assumption.
Sorry for wrong production date on my Expedition. It was 10/18 for my 2019 XLT. Had the elbow for the A/C drain hose installed under TSB and that rectified the issue of the mildew smell.
Just had mine in 2019 Expedition in June of this year for this problem. Showed the tech the TSB for this part that was omitted during the build phase. Since the elbow was installed under warranty the musty smell has never reoccured. The poster is right regarding engine heat into that drain tube...
The prefix starting with rather than H seems to be likely newer design. I had a additional post with the updated phasers numbers. I had my phasers done in 11/ 21 upon purchase at 35k on my vehicle. A bit PO'd that the phasers replaced were of the old part number. I have the oil and Filter...
You were very fair with your assessment of expenses. Perhaps at a long term investment in an extended Ford Protect warranty. Just to have peace of mind.
That's why one takes it Ford. At least if taking it back for a prior, you would get a rental free. When a Trans shop said he was schooled on a 10r80 Trans.......means he probably seen a manual on it. Reusing a Trans pan gasket doesn't seem standard practice especially on a plastic pan. He will...
You trusted them to provide a service within their capibilities.......obviously it was not. Therefore you should be warranteed to be be compensated for their incompetence. The willfully charged you for their services that they rendered. They are responsible for the hardship they created to you...
Sorry to get off post here. I had found on this site of the missing condensation drain hose TSB for the A/C. 2019 Expedition xlt. Just recently took it in for service and showed the Service Writer the TSB seeing mine was missing. It fell in the time frame that Ford designated of not being...
Sounds like a trip back to the dealership with your picture and if at all take a video with sound so they can hear what is the noise is. Probably vaccum line left unconnected causing to flash the engine light to come on but, the noise is more concerning if the Trans was worked on.
