Good for you dude. Must have the lame-o 3.08 gears and drive like a granny.

    87 vs 89 vs 93 octane - my findings

Those specs also claim 20mpg for the 5.4l. Yeah, I don't think so. Page 2, just says 320hp, not 320 using E85. Wikipedia Ford Modular says 310hp in the Expedition. Don't know why the F-150 would be more. Many Expedition owners think they are the same vehicles, but are not.

    87 vs 89 vs 93 octane - my findings

Here we go again, making claims with no proof. How many times now? Lets see dyno results for 'way more power'. E50? really? How many Expedition owners use it or can even find it.

    87 vs 89 vs 93 octane - my findings

The 5.4l 3V has a 9.8:1 compression ratio and does not need premium. The flex fuel model has a different fuel pressure regulator and full stainless lines. They don't make more power on E85. The MPG's go down. All of the 5.4l's made 310hp in the last year of production in 2014

    87 vs 89 vs 93 octane - my findings

No engine 'sees' the fuel it's burning. When you buy a 5.0l Mustang(or some Lincolns), it uses 91 or higher. However, the manual says 'will run on lower octane, with reduced performance. The knock sensor detects spark detonation and pulls/retards the timing. When you put 87 octane in the newer...

    Help Identify! Broken Engine Part

They can fall off from over revving, bad valve spring, bad oil pump, driving low on oil, using incorrect oil(too heavy) or oil thickening additives. A new one can put on fairly easy. Make sure the valve is closed first and pry it back in place. The valve spring pressure holds it in.

1st Oil Change (surprise - metal drain plug)

My Craftsmans zero turn tractor, came with a piece of tube. It attaches to the oil drain, that is a twist to open valve. No drips and oil pours right into the pan. If Briggs and Stratton can do this, why not Ford?

98 xlt 4.6 ball joints wrong or right?

Years ago I got burned by autozone, for a Saturn(winter car) ball joint. It would not tighten in the knuckle. Turns out they sold me the wrong part. It looked close to original, but was wrong. The old one was so rusted, couldn't be put back on. I had to drive it a few miles clunking, to a...

    OEM glass or "dealer glass"?

Most dealers 'farm out' the glass repairs. Can someone explain what ceramic tint does. In NY it's illegal to tint a windshield. The cars I see with side tint, are usually young guys with lowered Civics

    EPAS vs Hydrualic

I owned a 99 Town Car. The steering would over boost at slow speeds and get firm at highway. The power steering pump had an electrical connector and was controlled by the ECM. This has been around for a while.

2008 Ford Expedition XLT - 3rd AC compressor in 4 years

Find a new mechanic. Buy a compressor with a warranty. The accumulator and condenser are cheap. Not a bad idea to change them. When the system is vacuumed, the moisture turns to steam and is released.

    Should I Be Cheap?

I paid $190/w a 1 yr warranty. A bad compressor can let debris into the system. Make sure they change the part with the filter.

Dealer says rack/pinion leaking at both ends....

Fan Belt? You have one Serpentine belt. It turns the water pump, alternator and power steering. If it breaks, your calling a tow truck. I wouldn't assume, you being automatically being ripped off.

Dealer says rack/pinion leaking at both ends....

A leak in the Power steering, will fail NY State inspection. Assuming you can DIY. It will still need an alignment.

Longest-lasting vehicles: SUVs are way ahead - Expedition Unstoppable

The 1st Gen Expeditions made the list. The 'improved' newer models did not. Interesting, that Lincoln Town Car is missing(400K car) and the Toyota Camry.

Can a fuel pump go bad after Expedition sitting for 6 months?

Is the theft light flashing? Try a different key. Was it recently in an accident? Check the fuel pump safety switch. Fuel prime lasts for 4-8sec after turning key to 'on'. Try cycling key 3 times and pause at 'on'. A blow with rubber mallet to the tank, has been known to wake up a dying fuel...
